The only impressive part of this restaurant is the view which is better taken in from the carpark underneath away from the pretentious staff who didn't seem too interested in making the overall experience pleasant for guests. We were there Monday, not particularly busy, and we walked in the front door toward the cake display which caught our eye only to be schooled by maybe the owner or manager, ranting at us 'wait at the sign to be seated' as she pointed us back out the door. We should have gone with our initial instincts and just walked out, but let her seat us (though ignoring her demand to go back to the sign) as we were pretty hungry. A 'drinks menu' was handed to us so we asked if we could see the food menu as well. We were then told that we arrived in between breakfast and lunch but we could order cakes which were in the display cabinet we were just chased away from (okay then, awkward for her)!! Alternatively, we could wait 20minutes for the lunch menu. So we ordered a drink and waited for lunch. Mistake!! I ordered the Steak Sandwich, steak was dry and chewy, chips were lovely but not worth what was charged. My partner ordered the Herb Crusted Calamari and the Beetroot Bruschetta. The calamari was cold, not at all crusted, and the Beetroot Bruschetta not even edible, nor was it what one would call Bruschetta. When our meals came we asked for salt and pepper to be told rather abruptly, "it's in your cutlery packet". Not helpful when you didn't even give us said cutlery packet. Tip - if you want your guests to 'wait to be seated' you really should have cutlery and napkins on the table ready, or at least bought out with the meals, as well as fresh rock salt and peppercorns in shakers on the table NOT served in packets like you would expect in a takeaway shop. Trying too hard to be fancy which is disappointing because the food and overall experience was far from it. However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we had planned to come back for dinner that night with a group of friends to try the Pizza's that we heard great things about. Glad we spent our $975 at an establishment who...
Read moreThe staff simply do not want to be working at this establishment. This is the third visit, but my first review. I wanted to ensure that I was getting the true vibe before writing a review. But all three visits have been similar. There is a sign at the front door that says to wait to be seated, on each and every occasion it has been a long, long, long wait. ( even though on this occasion the place was empty and there where a huge number of tables free, see photo)
On this occasion like the one before I had to actually flag one of the staff down as they simply avoiding looking at the entrance. ( the couple in front also had to do the same thing. ) Once a staff member appeared there was no acknowledgement or apology not even a welcome.
So the food arrives, a coffee and cake. The cake looked and tasted like it was pre new year 😄😂 it’s the 2nd of January 🥳. Appalling. The cream also looks and tastes off so I declined eating that for health reasons. 🤣
On the previous two visits I was also faced with appalling food quality and the service has remained the same.
On one occasion I did actually voice my opinion in person but was ignored and treated in an offhand way which did not encourage me to do anything further.
What I always find difficult with these types of businesses is that this is supposed to be part of the hospitality industry, and there is simply no hospitality.
I think they work on the basis that they have a great location with views and so they can forget service and hospitality.
This is a failure of the owners and managers, not the general staff. They have not be taught how to provide service and been monitored.
This will therefore be the last visit as three strikes is a big out in anybody’s game.
A postface, I have been involved in running successful hospitality businesses for over 40 years all around the world. Any failure in service I took on as my failure and nobody else’s.

Read moreMy family just came an hour ago for a table of four, although the weather was rainy the view would have been amazing! We were getting directed to our table by the waiter and was standing around our table, but my dad and I were looking around at the view, however a lady which I can only presume was of a higher position than a waiter came over and tried to talk over and interrupt us and get our attention repeating several times by quote, "This is your table this is your table this is your table" and my dad said "Oh no we weren't looking for a table we were just looking at the view." and she walked away, which I don't feel was very necessary or polite at all. I truly hope this had nothing to do with the fact that my family is of asian ethnicity and me and my dad were just talking about the views in our language, our family wasn't confused and didn't need to be told that in that matter. Directly after she left my mum expressed that that was quite rude, and the directly proceeding sentence said by the waiter with us omitted an apology and started with "Anyways, __". I am 100% not the type to leave reviews in general but I was disappointed because I went here 4 years ago with my family and the food wasn't bad, but today we felt like this wouldn't occur in neighbouring restaurants so unanticipatedly so we left. Even in a rush (which the restaurant wasn't that rushed in terms of demand/capacity), demeanour and tone can 100% be adjusted, especially feeling the intention and need to speak over us as if we needed some clarification, and assumptions...
