2.8, dropped from 4.4 - As much as I love just kicking back and chilling here in this cafe, I'm probably not going to come back. It used to be the only cafe I figured out who actually made the Carbonara properly - with Egg and Olive Oil, not Cream (despite what the Menu says), but disappointingly, today, it was swimming in Cream, which is a really lazy and improper way of making it. It made me feel really bloated and after a long time sipping hot water, I ordered a medium Dirty Chai, which was really gritty and not to my taste. That's alright though - they have plenty of other Customers due to location and positioning.
Previously 4.4 - Came back again to try the Carbonara, which was quite yummy. It was dryer than expected but I liked the texture. I like the cosy section in the back, and like how welcoming they are that they let people take their time relaxing there with their laptop etc.
Previous 3.9 - Had been wanting to pop in and try this cafe for awhile but was a tad put off when I read some of the fusion offerings (I dislike this style). I did, however, pick something more normal - Angus Patties Beef Cheese Burger. The bun was a milky sweet one, the patty was very thin, and there was sweet chilli sauce drizzled on my salad (ew!) on the plate. They really should use Balsamic Vinegar instead. I enjoyed the hot honey citron though. I would have much preferred the thicker cut chips, and a proper burger bun that was healthy. 1 extra star because the atmosphere was so chill, and people tended to stay for lengthy periods, enjoying the WiFi. In their futile attempt to be multicultural by offering Australian and Taiwanese breakfast options, they can't do either of it right.
The congee tasted like it was made 3 days ago. The deep fried bread that goes with the conger is soggy and under cooked.
The egg pancake, which is arguably the most traditional Taiwanese dish, tasted like a bacon and egg wrap that was reheated I the microwave.
Onto the Western menu, anything that requires cooking was disastrous. The only components from the big breakfast that was acceptable were the avocado, baked beans and hashbrown - all of which can be done by a random person off the street.
To top it off, the time difference between the first dish arriving and the last dish arriving for only a table of 4 was 30mins - making our whole family wait needlessly for a sub-par meal.
BTW. The cafe was completely empty so I struggle to find a reason for their incompetence.
It's time to move on and let someone else have a go at running a decent Cafe.

Read moreService was friendly BUT that’s about it. I ordered peanut butter toast and a green smoothie. This cafe charges an extra 50c for the peanut butter (for any spread for that matter), which is not disclosed anywhere on the menu. This is essentially fraud. By law you must disclose the full cost of a product/service. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t just include the 50c in the price - to $5.50. As if the food item would ‘normally’ be ordered withOUT any spread/topping.
Green smoothie lacked any flavour. I asked the staff what was in it and they couldn’t even tell me - because all of their smoothies come in pre-made ice cubes. Suggest they put down the ingredients on the menu or train your staff to know this as I’m sure I’m not the first to ask. How would one be able to choose between a ‘green smoothie’ and ‘superfood smoothie’ if they don’t know what goes in it?? I wouldn’t go back, sorry and I...
