It’s a new opening so can’t expect too much from them yet, but services are already terrible.
Upon my first time, I wasn’t familiar with the menu options so I asked the lady serving, she was rude and rolled her eyes at me like I am some fool, her tone was not friendly. I ordered a combo of pan fried dumplings, a side dish of radish pickles and a drink. I asked for take away without knowing they will charge extra- this is inside a food court and I only realised after I check the receipt, they won’t tell you this.
Upon collecting the food, they served the dumplings on dined in plate instead and didn’t give me the side dish and the drink. I try to resolve this with their staff but unfortunately their English is poor so didn’t understand what I wanted. When I eventually got the food, it wasn’t great, dumplings were cold due to the delay and pickles were ‘old’, dry and tasteless.
I looked over at the noodle master making noodles on the side glass window, he never smiles at customers and looked like he hated his job.
Other than that, if you pay cash, you get...
Read moreStrongly not recommended. I’m sorry but i have to give it 2/5. 1 is giving to the friendly staff otherwise it’s 1/5. Here are the reasons:
The noodle itself isn’t made properly. I didn’t count but there are at least 4 noodle knots in one serve as the photo shows; There is hair found in the soup; No sliced radish; This is large size with extra noodle added. I doubt if the extra noodle was even added. It costs $18.8 and it is definitely not worth it; I ordered the thick noodle and this is not thick. I should say thickness is not even; The soup is just ordinary.
I have been having Lanzhou Beef noodle for over 20 years and to be honest this is the worst one I have ever had. The noodle maker(s) needs to be well trained. I’m not fussy but if you call yourself Lanzhou Beef Noodle you have to meet the minimum standard. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t meet it. The 1919 in Burwood is way better. I’m surprised with the same branding the gap can be that huge. The first time and...
Read moreRacismmm Today I had one of the most upsetting experiences I’ve ever faced in Australia. While waiting in line at Lanzhou Noodles to order food for my sister’s kids, a male staff member looked at us and, without us saying a word, told us “the restaurant is not halal.” He only made this comment because we are visibly Muslim and wear a hijab.
When it was our turn to order, my sister asked the cashier for noodles. She was ready to take her order, but then the same staff member spoke to her in their language and told her not to serve here. Shockingly, she refused to take her order and denied to take any action about the situation.
This was blatant discrimination and racism. No one should ever be treated differently or refused service because of their religion, appearance, or beliefs. What happened today left me deeply hurt and disappointed, and it is unacceptable. This guy in the photo is the guy who refused serving us at the beginning of And then it kept getting...
