My friend and I had dinner at Scissors and Tongs in Rhodes Waterside tonight, and it was an absolute nightmare. The place was packed, and we ordered two meat dishes and a rice soup. The self-serve mashed potatoes looked like they had been sitting out for ages—dry and crusty on the surface. During the meal, the food already felt overly greasy, and we had to keep drinking water to ease the discomfort.
But the worst part came just 20 minutes after eating: both of us experienced severe stomach pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. We literally couldn’t make it out of the shopping centre bathrooms. We were in such bad shape that we had to go straight home afterward and didn’t have the strength to confront the restaurant directly.
I’ve never had such a bad reaction to food in my life. If it were just one of us, it might be a personal issue, but both of us getting violently ill at the same time strongly points to food poisoning.
We’re not picky diners, but this was simply unacceptable. Whether it was poor hygiene, spoiled ingredients, or something else—we can’t say for sure. But what we can say is: be extremely cautious before eating here. Your health is not worth the risk.

Read moreMy experience at the restaurant was a mix of positives and negatives. On the downside, the initial interaction with the host who assigned our table left much to be desired. The host came across as rude and unprofessional, which detracted from the overall dining experience. It would greatly benefit the restaurant if they provided proper training to their front-of-house staff to ensure a more welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for customers.
However, the redeeming factor of the evening was the quality of the food. The dishes served were delicious and met my expectations. Despite this, I couldn't help but notice that the staff seemed to be in a rush, grilling the dishes quickly and urging us to finish our meal promptly. This created an impression that they were focused on maximizing table turnover rather than allowing guests to enjoy a leisurely dining experience.
In conclusion, the restaurant has potential, particularly in terms of its culinary offerings. Nevertheless, improvements are needed in terms of staff behavior and pacing of service to create a truly enjoyable dining outing...
Read moreCame here for lunch recently with the family. We were quickly seated at a table but I did notice no one told us that to order we had to scan a QR code and order online. I have eaten here before so I knew what to expect with the online order system which can be a bit annoying for new customers. I ordered the bibimbap and beef rib noodle soup as well as the steamed egg. The kids weren’t really hungry so they just ate the egg. The food is always tasty and what I like is that the food is always consistent every time I visit. The value is good given the serving size and quality of the food. There’s usually a number of people having Korean bbq meat so it can get a bit Smokey in here but you need to consider this before you sit down and have your meal. The banchan sides are limited but free so no complaints and the kim chi and cabbage salad are quite good. The staff were quickly to clear away any empty banchan plates to ensure a clutter less table. Everyone I interacted with was polite and friendly. I will definitely be coming back here again and recommend others to come...
