My friend and I were invited to have lunch Urban Jungle Rhodes and we now know why the cafe was a full house and had queues outside.
We visited Urban Jungle Rhodes store because we wanted to try their new menu and monthly specials. Urban Jungle Rhodes had the largest extensive menu with a huge range of food options to cater for everyone.
We ordered:
The Mango Tango was refreshing mix of Pineapple, mango, lemon, popping pearls and passionfruit. The lemon added a slight tart flavour to the drink which was nice.
The Zucchini Fries were a monthly special. The Zucchini Fries were a panko & sesame crusted zucchini chips served with a side of chipotle aioli and honestly they tasted incredible. The Panko & sesame crust on the Zucchini Fries gave the fries a nice crunchy coating and the Zucchini was surprisingly juicy.
The Urban Hotcakes were a delicious triple stack of buttermilk pancakes, biscoff cheesecake cream, biscoff crumb, vanilla ice cream, salted caramel and berries. I loved the Urban Hotcakes so much, they were so fluffy and the sweet toppings on the Urban Hotcakes worked so well together.
The Nashville Chicken & Waffles were also a monthly special. The Nashville Chicken & Waffles had the juiciest piece of perfectly Southern fried chicken, croissant pastry waffles, crispy maple bacon, truffle butter, house pickles and canadian maple syrup. By the time I ate this dish, I was already so full. It was so good though.
The Seasoned Fries were deliciously crispy, crunchy and seasoned to perfection.
My friend loved the Chicken Schnitzel, which was panko crusted parmesan herb chicken breast, crispy potato, soft herb salad and signature house made gravy.
Overall we were really impressed with Urban Jungle Rhodes and we would come back again.
Review based on actual...
Read moreJust felt the need to write a review in response to the review left by James Donkin aka "Kevin", who was accompanied by "Karen". I witnessed the interaction between you and the waitress and have to call you out on your rude behaviour and not being completely honest and upfront in your review.
To set the scene, it was towards the end of the busy lunch period, the cafe was full. There were 3 parties on the queue. First Kevin and Karen, then a mum with a couple of kids, then a group of 3 people. Within 30 seconds of myself arriving at the cafe, a waitress asked Kevin and Karen how many people were in their party and they replied 2. Then she asked the next party and the mum said they were just after takwaway, so the waitress pointed them in the direction of the counter, so that could order. Then the waitress asked the next group, who stated that they were a party of 3.
The waitress informed Kevin and Karen that there would be a 5 minute wait for a table of 2. She then said that there was a table of 4 available to accomodate the party of 3 adults.
Kevin and Karen were not happy with this remarking "this is terrible customer sevice" and "no that is not ok, we were here first", then storming off.
I just want to defend the wait staff for trying their best to accomdate all parties, even with the limited seating area and during peak time. From my dining experience today, the service was quick, food was delicious and the wait staff were able to have quick turn arounds for tables.
Just a shame Karen and Kevin missed out on a great...
Read moreWe usually chill at Rhodes central but saw this yesterday passing by and thought we'd make a nice occasion with my 2 girls for late lunch today. Arrived just after 3pm had the most polite greeting by one of the girls who showed us to a table. Before we even sat down another girl behind the counter quickly showed disgust and told her off to tell us the kitchen was closed only drinks were available and also told her if any customers come after 3pm to sit them outside so the staff can mop. She kept looking at us and looked at the girl who greeted us (mind you the girl who greeted us felt ashamed and bad at the same time for us to watch this) and she proceeded speaking her language trying to not make it obvious. Overall her reaction was not welcoming at all. I quietly discussed with my girls that it was probably best for us not to order as it already didn't seem welcoming and we could possibly be served drinks of bad quality so we kindly said it's fine thank you and left. Imagine a business set up that looks so amazing attracting customers, only to be disappointed by the quality of service and/or food. In this case I never got to order even a drink, on that note I won't bother coming back to try either . I've done waitressing and customer service too. I'm not rich also but I easily spend $80 min on one transaction, imagine the loss they would experience if staff weren't trained properly and food was average. We left for Rashays instead. Staff were...
