I really like the new management, 5th Earl has quickly become a staple in my culinary adventures, especially when it comes to brunch. But now, with their recent expansion into Friday and Saturday night dinners, my admiration for this place has reached new heights. The dinner menu is nothing short of amazing, variety and so close to fine dining experience. The barramundi, bursting with freshness, and the succulent vegetables were highlights that stood out for me. And let's not forget those amazing fat chips that practically melt in your mouth.
But the culinary journey at 5th Earl doesn't stop there. Dessert was a sweet revelation, and the espresso martini sealed the deal, ensuring I'll be making a return just for that delightful concoction. What truly sets this place apart, though, is not only the outstanding menu but the warm and inviting atmosphere it exudes. The staff's friendly service and the camaraderie among patrons created an ambiance that makes 5th Earl a true gem in the heart of Roseberry. Whether it's a lazy brunch or an indulgent dinner, 5th Earl has undoubtedly secured its place as one of my top choices for an exceptional dining experience.
Thank you, Mary and Frank!
25/8/24 - The tiramisu, inspired by Mary's grandmother's cherished recipe and skillfully innovated by the chef, is a true delight. It’s incredibly light, with a perfect balance of rich flavours and a delicate texture that melts in your mouth. Every bite feels like a celebration of tradition with a modern twist, making it a must-try for anyone looking for a fresh take on a classic dessert.
Great brunch, wonderful hospitality as always. 🩷

Ambience above average. Suitable for date night.
Food: Arancini balls 3.9/5. Cooked well. Not greasy.
Calamari 2.9/5. Too soggy with oil and not crispy. Calamari however was very tender which was the saving grace.
Mussels: 3.9/5. Mussels fresh and clean. Tomato based sauce standard. Ciabatta bread untoasted. Please give option for toasted bread with butter. It would be sooooo much better.
Seafood marinara 4/5. Lots of seafood. Pasta cooked perfectly. Standard tomato based sauce.
Duck l'orange 3.5/5. As Manu would say... Where is the sauce????? Please put more sauce on the plate! That is half the dish. Otherwise duck cooked well.
Rocket pear walnut blue cheese salad 4.8/5. Near perfect. Blue cheese beautiful.
Would probably return but would be good if the above issues could be addressed.
Edit: Second visit
Octopus dish was nice and smokey but variable in texture with some chewy bits and some more tender pieces. Chimmi churri was decent.
Kingfish dish was nice but could have perhaps had more of an interesting dressing to it. Won ton skins were a good accompaniment.
Crab ravioli slightly undercooked otherwise almost perfect with a nice mildly spicy tomato based sauce and perfectly cooked prawns.
Overall decent meal with some...
Read moreThis place wowed us. We have been eyeing this local food place in our area. I was craving for a pancake last Friday night but they were closing so we returned Sunday morning for a brunch. They did not disappoint to deliver. We ordered the earls breakfast and salmon Benny. It’s really filling and delicious. I love cooking, I can tell what good food quality is. My experience, food at 5th earl is made with fresh ingredients. The portion is huge and affordable. The staff were friendly especially Chef Bishal who made the best tiramisu- that’s the best tiramisu by par as promised! The owner’s daughter , Alyssa was very accomodating and really checks on every customer’s experience despite the fact that they were full house. It made us feel valued that they care and spend time to listen to customer’s feedback. I think what made this place extra special is not just the food, it’s the culture on how the owner treat their staff as one big family which they model to every customer. This significantly reflects the quality of food and service they deliver. We will be back soon for dinner guys.
We highly recommend 5th Earl Rosebery so you can personally experience what I’m talking...
