For a taste of Greece (without having to fly there), look no further than Zeus Street Greek. I loved walking into the Rosebery restaurant and seeing an authentic spit roast with meats sizzling and cooking away, leaving a mouthwatering aroma in the room.

I ordered the BYO (Build Your Own) Spartan box where you choose your items to make up your meal, 140grams of meat off the spit (I chose lamb, can't have Greek food without a bit of lamb), with my two sides (aegan slaw and village green salad) and chose of dip, I chose the beetroot hummous. The meat was beautifully marinated in herbs and spices, slightly pink on the middle, and tender and juicy to bite into. The salads were fresh and tasty, the perfect accompaniment.

My dining partner ordered the 'From the Spit' meal which included 200g of flame-grilled meat (chicken) with tzatziki, lemon & pita bread. The chicken was a generous size, and was marinated and well seasoned, again, juicy inside, a chicken dinner winner. In terms of sides, we couldn't resist ordering a side of the grilled Cypriot halloumi cheese served with lemon and oregano (excellent cheese, can't say no to grilled cheese!) and another side of pita bread.

One thing to note is that the dips that come with these meals are very small pots, I didn't know that they would be such small pots of dip which is why I ordered another side of bread. The dip is just enough to go onto perhaps 1-2 quartered slices of pita (just a warning).

I have been to Greece before, and the food here is just as good as some of the dishes I've had there. I'm looking forward to my next visit to try more dishes off their menu! And as for a chain, well, I'm glad that they have several locations in Sydney!

Note: I dined as a guest of Zeus...

Ordered food and part of my order was missing which is fine mistakes happen. I went back in just to politely let them know and I was returned with awful attitude and told it was my fault and made to feel embarrassed. I was even happy to pay any difference as the wrong order was put through which is fine and he just had a go at me? I work in customer service and understand it can be frustrating and was super polite but to give me a scowl and blame me is awful experience especially when I pointed a vocalized the specific thing I wanted. Why would i order sauces for fries if i did not vocalize that i wanted fries? What was i going to do, dip my fingers in and lick it off? I don't have an issue with the mistake I have an issue with the treatment of customer. After being treated like that I probably will never come back and would warn others unless you want...

First time and my last I chose to adjust my lamb wrap adding chips with it, it only had 5 chips in the wrap. I didn’t want slaw and stated no slaw yet i got it which was half a cup of it the tzatziki was very disappointing it was more like just thick sweet yogurt. The lamb was fatty of 5 very small pieces in the pita bread. The only part I enjoyed was the little sprinkled amount of crumbled feta in it, got home and added my own tomatoes.

The 6 Loukoumades with Nutella was the only positive I absolutely loved them. Total was $27.23 not worth the price.

As for the gentleman serving me his frustration definitely showed customers have allergies he needs to understand and respect this, coming from. Greek background and had may lamb souvlaki wraps in my time sorry but I won’t be coming back...

Exceptional service from all staff. From the moment you walk in we were greeted by friendly smiles and made to feel welcome. It's a relaxed atmosphere, with sufficient indoor and outdoor seating options. The food was hit and miss. Ordered the Lamb Pita which was full of flavour and cooked well. However the servings of chips, to lamb and other salads within the pita were all out of whack. Felt like I was eating a hot chip sandwich as I ate my way through most of the meal. Also ordered the haloumi chips which came out cold and dry, resulting in a very rubbery feel and taste to them. Overall, all portion sizes were too small for the price you pay. It's far too pricey for the small quantity of food that'll most likely leave any average person feeling hungry after.

Was recommended by a friend to visit the cannery at Rosebery for food and drinks and came across the Zeus Greek restaurant. Discounts is available in the entertainment book members to receive 25% off your total bill. If you never tried this restaurant, highly recommend Zeus for two which includes meat from the spit, pita bread, salad, pilaf and tzatziki for $49. Is the price worth it? No. Does the food taste nice? Delicious! Reasonable with 25% off but at full price probably a bit expensive.
