I visited Al Aseel Castle Hill a fortnight ago. My family and I took my Aunt and cousin who were visiting from Perth for my grandfather's birthday. I made a reservation a week earlier and from the moment we entered the restaurant, we received a cold reception from the lady at the door. They did not have a table ready for us, despite the reservation so we (including my almost 90 year old grandfather who had swollen ankles and could barely walk/stand) were forced to wait while they cleaned and arranged a table. Several other tables were ready but they refused to seat us there despite us asking. The girl who took our order was unable to answer any questions we had about the menu and there was no checking in on us during the meal. By the time we reached dessert, we ordered a dish that arrived with missing elements. Upon enquiring from the waitstaff and asking the chef, it turns out they had changed the dish several months beforehand but not changed the menu. Finally, by the time we went to pay it turned out they had given our bill to a different table by accident.
We have visited this restaurant many times in the past several years and it has always had very good food and decent service. The food was still great but the service is now abysmal. I have already retracted this restaurant as a recommendation to many friends and would tell anyone in the future that it is NOT worth the food for the terrible service and reception you are to receive. I will not be...
Read moreReason I am giving a 3 star is not bc of the food but the customer service we received last Friday. The staff member that served us was rather impatient and outright rude and crude. We enquired about a dish that we needed explaining(didn't understand the names and what it meant obviously) and it turned out to be 2 skewers of each meat. Please note here, the staff member in question DID NOT provide any further details that the choice of dish was enough for 2 pple to be shared!! We proceeded to order rice, salad and I asked my husband if we shld get another dish. But I turned to this staff member to get her opinion and instead of politely providing help, she practically screamed, "I just said it was 2 skewers each and enough for 2". Well as noted, she did not recommend the dish as being more than enough for 2 people. Now we were there celebrating our anniversary and quite honestly at that point I felt like asking for the manager and telling her to F off! But I didn't want to ruin our evening anymore, so I ignored her crude ways and completed the order. So to the mgr of Al Aseel (CH) please train your staff members to manage customer queries with respect and decency.
Other than this unfortunate experience, our food was delicious, arrived ever so promptly and we thoroughly...
Read moreHave dined here a number of times and the food is always absolutely delicious. However, the service isn't always up to scratch, with rude waiters/waitresses that rush you through your meal. Had a dreadful experience this weekend. Had booked for a small group over the phone and was given a 6pm timeslot which suited us. Upon arriving at the restaurant was instantly and rudely informed by the maitre d that we had to be out within 1.5 hours. First we'd been told about that, despite actually speaking to the restaurant on the phone to book! Then we had the creepiest waiter who stood directly behind our table for most of the night making us uncomfortable and loathe to chat to each other. He persistently harrassed us about ordering food and insisted that we needed to order all our food at once (appetisers, mains, desserts, drinks) all at once because it would take the kitchens at least 30 mins to prepare each course. Well, what do you know, we had all our food arrive, at the same time, jamming the table and making it rushed and hurried. We actually couldnt wait to get out of there. We all left, went across to Tella Balls and ordered desserts, drinks, coffees and sat there chatting for a couple of hours without anyone breathing down our necks. Won't be keen to go back to Al...
