I m a female and the male bloke shifting tables such I didn't know if they opening closing or where to sit said I could sit at one and to do so I simply moved it as just standard tablet so I could sit comfortable as there was a screen close and I didn't think about it when I simply angled it so it was easy to sit. Then he was angry I moved it? I hadn't know it was special location but thought he was just letting me sit before he moved it. Talk about him having a bad day !!! but then I could sit at new location with new table moved to it and said sorry I just didnt understand ? Then he came over and said you don't like it here in an aggressive manner and I was in shock at the veiled anger and thought he must be a criminal and didn't need business and could be rude when he felt like it. He went away satisfied with being rude and yet I had thought he had earlier was nice letting me sit in a temporary location. It was don't you dare touch my table? Too weird ! Its a great location and often sat and ate. Poor staff ! You don't need aggression for zero reason! Didn't dawn the bloke was...
Read more.. I went to this venue for an early lunch. I asked the waitress if we could order food from takeaway menu and eat in, as the normal dine in restaurant was very pricey. The waitress working said that was fine and she said asked if we were just happy to eat our meals in the takeaway packaging to which we said yes.
Our food was served on plates and when we went to pay for the bill, we were overcharged. We asked the employee why this was the case and they advised that food served on plates cost extra, even though we specifically asked them for the takeaway packaging.
I think it is EXTREMELY bad practice to charge patrons extra money for this (particularly when we specifically said takeaway packaging was fine), let alone not be transparent about it from the get go.
The food was beyond average as well. I felt incredibly sick after eating there. I would not recommend the place at all

Here as I sit and browse the selection of specials on the board I noted that consistency is the rule of thumb for all the chefs in the kitchen. From my brief observations each dish was carefully scrutinised, from dish placement down to the excellent customer service to the many patrons who flock to enjoy coffee, and selection of meals which the Avenue rustles up.
I enjoyed the soup of the day which was wholesome and delicious with a delightful combination of flavours which left me wanting more. I have also tried the BLT and believe me, this is like no other I’ve sampled around Sydney, don’t just take my word for, try it for yourself.
The Avenue most certainly delivers on all fronts which is true testimony to the many patrons who flock there...
