Been to this cafe and loved their ambience and food all of the times we have been here. The three star is to average out our experience all other days and today. Today was exceptionally terrible. I can’t blame the staff or even the food but the terrible attitude of the cook. I happened to check on the status of my order since I had to rush to pick my son from therapy in another 15 mins and it had been a good 10 mins waiting for our order anyway. The staff behind the counter was polite and asked me what my order was and while I was just talking through, the chef behind who was putting it together overheard and talked back saying “can’t you see how much work I have”don’t quote me on this but he meant something like that and he said something else under his breath but I am sure it wasn’t pleasant... that tone was just uncalled for and I was absolutely stumped!! I didn’t even reprimand anyone, I had valid intentions on checking on my order status and understand the cook is busy with all other orders but that attitude. There was no reason to get offensive like that. He should just stay home if he can’t cope with the stress at work. We all work but we don’t pass the stress back to our customers - you are generally fired for that. The customer is the last person he should be targeting his frustrations towards. He just ruined that brunch and I am not sure if I ever want to go back there again, too bad. My husband got offended and may have been rude to someone else but honestly none of that would have happened had the chef just regulated his emotions and probably not spoken. It...

Love this place and our family try to visit at least weekly if not more often. Such a gem in the neighbourhood.

Personally, I find there’s always a bit hit and miss with neighbourhood cafes. But luckily this one has been a hit. You can tell from how well run and established the place is - the quality of food and service are extremely consistent.

I don’t drink coffee, but husband loves theirs, especially the cold drip. The food is always fresh, delicious and well priced. You get new menu items that really help keep things exciting. The indoor seating area is rustic, airy and there is also an outdoor seating option for pet owners and families like us who prefer the sun and fresh air. The staff is pure delight - friendly, tentative and prompt to action. Our kids are always kept happy with the toys, toasties and the chef’s little magic trick that comes with a piece of chocolate.

Oh, and please don’t pass the baked goods without trying! Most are made fresh daily on the premise. We have tried many of them and sometimes just take them away for desserts. They are simply delicious, decadent, and just a delight.

It’s definitely worth trying if you haven’t. I’m proud to...

Very disappointing! Food ordinary. I asked the waitress at the register if a specific menu item was warm or cold. She advised without hesitation or checking that it was warm, so I ordered it. As I sat down she advised it was actually cold. So I chose to change it. No big deal. Upon approaching the register, The rude response from the cook “that’s how it comes” again that was fine but as I had specifically asked before I ordered it. The Cook then advised it was a new menu item. How on earth would I know seeing it was my first time (and now last) to visit. Staff should be aware of the menu, new or old dishes. Special Roast Chicken wrap wasn’t very nice. Had some spicy sauce which the cook denied.

in response I didn’t have an issue with the casual junior staff! It was actually your rude response. The menu item stated “Roast sweet Potato and Oven Roasted tomatoes” with the option of adding Poached Chicken, so the question as to whether warm or cold would seem not unusual. Your response shows just how rude you are. I will be going elsewhere so my tastebuds can be tantalized as your food...

Been here several times for the coffee! Located in the office area so it's convenient before work or during my lunch break. Coffee is great value, especially dine-in which is served in a mug. The menu is quite small but the quality is superb. Once I dined there and my meal was ordered but forgotten by staff. We were one of two tables in the restaurant and the waitress did not notice that our food was missing and not being made. We waited 40 minutes before notifying staff, who were extremely apologetic and offered to make it immediately as a takeaway. Although we declined, we were immediately given a refund by the friendly staff. I'm assuming this is due to a trainee waitress, so hopefully this is a one-off. Despite this incident, I would still recommend this place and dine there again.

We have been here ample times. For brunch 😋 and our daily coffees ☕️ This is a hidden place, and it doesn't look like a cage at all. Rather, you won't be able to make our from outside because it is a brick basement. However, the food and coffee are amazing 👏🏻 🤩 😋 😍 👌 There is ample street parking, right in the heart of Castle Hill, yet away from the crowded streets. The food is amazing, and the staff is very courteous and very family friendly. For wheelchair 👩‍🦼 users ♿️ , it may be tricky as the driveway is sloppy and the cafe has few stairs. It is an awesome place for breakfast and brunch or lunch. Enjoy your food and let us know how you liked it. Regards

We have an office at 7 Anella Avenue and walked around the corner to this little gem (and we're so glad we did). The coffee was amazing! The food was freshly prepared and the staff were really nice too. I had bacon and eggs (poached) on sourdough and my companion had poached eggs and baked cherry tomatoes on sourdough. We both had a piccolo latte. Poached eggs were cooked to perfection, as were the baked cherry tomatoes and the bacon. Piccolo lattes were really good! We also decided to take away a blueberry & ricotta cheesecake and a chocolate bread and butter pudding. I will definitely be returning the next time I'm in Castle Hill!
