Feedback in Betty's Burgers Gflip night.
For a $60 event it was terribly organised.
We were seated at 6:05. Half of event got drinks orders taken on the spot, the rest were left looking awkwardly at servers. There were three servers walking in circles looking lost carrying clipboards with plain pieces of paper. Our tables didn't have numbers so they had to guess where drinks went.
Food orders were taken at 6:30 for some tables while others were ignored. At 6:45 someone took our food order and we pointed out we hadn't have our drinks taken, she said it wasn't her job and apologised. At 6:50 we flagged another server down to ask about drinks. He looked shocked, asked if we didn't have them yet. Pointed out a table to the side got their food before their drinks. The table next to them on the other hand had their drinks since 6 but no food.
At 7, three people came by to ask if we got our drinks yet and we said no. Finally they arrived, followed by our food at 7:10. One of the servers expressed what everyone was feeling by proclaiming "it couldn't be worse!"
We ate our very small burgers with our oversalted chips and left at 7:15. On the way out Gflips staff asked if we enjoyed ourselves and my partner politely said "well the food was good."
Overall the event was poorly organised and didn't have any entertainment to justify a seventy minute wait besides Gflip walking around for...
Read moreBrand new location on Kings Cross Road in Darlinghurst for this burger chain store.
Can’t miss this store and brightly lit both inside and out. Plenty of seating indoors and out.
The burgers here are very tasty with a multitude of options including bases including beef, chicken, vegetarian, vegan, and seafood. I especially enjoy their choice of add ons so you can tailor your burger to how hungry you are and what tickles your fancy. There is a choice of sides, drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic), and ice creams. I went with Betty’s Deluxe which had a base of angus beef with bacon, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and betty’s special sauce. I made it over the top with additions of crispy chicken and a shroom patty. It was a super luxe burger. The buns they use are soft and tasty. Such a filling combo, I also shared sides with friends I were dining with. My favourite of the sides were the Onion Rings. They were lightly beer battered and a good ratio of onion to batter.
I also enjoyed a Peanut Butter Thick Shake. It was very thick and creamy. A nice flavour and made with their premium custard ice cream.
With this additional location, it will make it easier to get your fix of...
Read moreI was very excited to hear that Betty's Burgers was opening in a formerly unloved location in Kings Cross and the fitout, view and ambience are second to none. It's been disappointing then, that the burgers don't quite live up to that expectation. For a fairly high price point ($20-25) for a basic burger, fries and drink - there are no meal deals or combos - the food really needs to stand out compared to other, cheaper options in the vicinity, including the major burger chains. Sadly, the burgers are quite small, about half the size of other burgers, basic and seem to use a flat, doughy, almost steamed bun rather than brioche or regular burger bun. They are not warned or heated either, so you have the cold bun contrasting with the semi-warm contents. Fries are small and usually a bit limp, not crispy, although the onion rings were good. Staff are friendly and there seem to be a lot of them running around but it still took 10 minutes to make my meal when there was no one else in the restaurant. I've been a few times now and it hasn't improved so will probably give it a miss in favour of the local shop down the road which charges $15 for a much...
