Betty's Burgers — Restaurant in Sydney

I have been here 3 times, our first experience was good! The food, the service was pleasant. However, the other two times were atrocious. It took them 30 minutes to make 2 thickshakes when it was quiet. Instead the staff were just having a good old chit chat instead.

Second time was for mothers day. The buzzer never went off, food was then given to us 45 minutes later and was cold no drinks provided.

When I asked for where the drinks were they said their was an issue and that they would sort it out. took them another 25 minutes at which point I asked for a refund because we just ate our cold food with no drinks. Their was no issue they were just disorganised and clueless. The food and atmosphere can be great but the waiting staff are beyond useless after i asked for a refund for just the drinks they started working on making them by then I was just turned off. Cold food via uber is expected it happens but in a restaurant thats never happened before. I really love the burger here - they always hit the spot and are super tasty. The shakes are 10/10.

I removed one star because of the chip/sauce situation. The chips are average ($5) and they always try to upsell you on the sauce saying something along the lines of “and what sauce would you like with that”, implying sauce is included. It’s not clear till afterwards that the sauce is an extra $1-$2. I think it’s cheeky to charge for sauce in general. The fries are certainly not worth $7 total, they are small in serving size and just average in taste.

Also I rarely find a deal on the Bettys Burger app that is beneficial for 2 people dining in who want burgers, chips and shakes (what I would consider a classic combo). The deals are either for larger families, or people who want burgers, chips and a soft drink…and you can’t upgrade the deal to include a shake instead. I went there with my mum, and it was very disappointing I have gone to many others, and it has been amazing food, and customer service it's always good. Still, when we went to this one the chips were cold, 1 side of my patty was overcooked burnt to a crisp while on the other hand my mum's was pink inside. The burger buns were very greasy not easy to hold and were slapped together when we didn't even go there during rush hour; from what we could see the kitchen had too many staff and was crowded within their one space there was approx. 8 in the kitchen all the time with not enough space. instead of having an only inside pick up have an outside one also located so customers outside can pick up their food too, instead of going all the way inside. all the research has come back with table service but all you get it a buzzer and have to wait for the food to be ready, does not even make sound only lights up have to pick...
