Read moreA couple of weeks ago I went to Hornsby Westfield with my Father to pick up a mobility scooter for him and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the level of service. The girl Hayley who attended to my Dad was courteous, friendly and very helpful to my Father.
I was surprised though that there weren't many scooters available which I assumed that for a large shopping centre like Westfield there would be not only be more available but also more variety to cater to the different needs of people requiring these scooters.
There was only scooter left that was suitable for my Father so we were lucky to get it. When I asked Hayley why there weren't more scooters on offer she couldn't give a valid reason and that it was up to management to order more even though she told me she had put in request for more.
This is the first time that I have accompanied my Father to get a mobility scooter and I was also surprised that they were in such a small space. If management reads this review I strongly urge that more scooters be purchased for shoppers and also ensure that there is more selection. If there wasn't a suitable scooter available for my Father we would not have been able to spend the time that my Parents needed to do all their shopping.
I also saw that after we returned the scooter and as we were leaving, the girl Hayley was thoroughly sanitising the scooter my Father had used - which I actually did not expect.
So I gave a 5 star review basically for the level of service but not for the scooters that...

But the centre they are working with is a disgrace. This is a centre which was slick and fancy when it was redeveloped nearly thirty years ago, and which hasn’t been updated in any meaningful way since. One only has to look at the walls to see the yellowing fixtures, tired paint, and floors beginning to succumb to decades of use with very little meaningful upkeep.
It is more surprising to find the escalators and travellators fully working- and more frustrating when instead of letting people use them as stairs, one must walk a few hundred metres away to find the next “working” access. Lifts go down for months and years at a time, leaving queues waiting sometimes a quarter to half of an hour to take the only available access to the upper carpark levels.
Hornsby could have been the jewel in the crown of the Westfield centres here in Sydney. Instead, us local residents have been forced to deal with the ongoing mismanagement and slow decline towards dereliction- knowing the staff on the ground are doing their best whilst Corporate allows this centre to go to pot. Either Scentre Group needs to announce a full and proper renewal of this shopping centre, or step aside and sell to...
