It's always so busy all the times we have been here while visiting relatives over the years. Food is always fabulous and served so fast. Service is quick and efficient. As the serving staff seems to be all Korean, the chefs must be too because the cuisine is authentic and delicious. We've been to Seoul for the past 2 years and this place is comparable in food quality but much better in service. Real Koreans tend to be curt to foreigners probably because we don't speak Korean. Also Koreans strike me as a very business oriented kind of people. No wonder they emphasize a lot on kindness and courtesy in many kdramas. My own opinion, lol. We had Korean fried chicken, japchae with beef and seafood pancake. Chicken was crispy and sweet. The beef in japchae was tender with good flavors. My 'grouse' is that there was too much stringy onions in it because I don't like spring onions. The noodles were really nice and tender. Seafood pancake had lots of big juicy sweet prawns. Yummy!! The entire combo was genius if I may say so myself 🤣 There were so many types of banchan. We love the white radish, sweet bean curd, kimchi, stewed potato, sausage and macaroni, japchae - practically everything they gave us and asked for 3 refills. The only thing we didn't really like was the fresh lettuce with sesame sauce. I'm lactose intolerant so was wary of the cream in the sauce. The kimchi was really well seasoned and not chilli hot. Love it. There was an interesting incident which showed the professionalism of the staff. The outside walls had decorative tiles plastered in vertical lines at intervals. There was a loud bang as a tile popped out and fell on the plate in front of a diner. Fortunately, the young lady wasn't hurt. The staff immediately ushered them away and while some held on to the tiles, others removed the tiles one by one. Everything was done smoothly and quietly. When we came out after our meal, the entire section had a decorative plastic covering nicely stuck over the space and the table was placed away from the wall. Bravo. Great temporary solution. If you didn't know about the incident, you won't even notice it. Only 1 pix. We were very hungry and the food was too good. Couldn't stop eating to take pixs. And if you pay in cash,...
Read morePlease Please Please be specially Aware of Time Limit!!! I wish I can give negative star if I can. The manager was really rude. They give an hour to finish the meal and leave for non-BBQ eating customers. I don't like 1 hour eating time rule they force customer to follow. We went to this restaurant at 6:20pm and got a table at 6:40pm. The manager told one of our group members that we only have 1 hour to eat which I did not hear about the eating time limit. Food came 20 minutes later at 7:00pm and we started eating the food. 20 minutes later at 7:20pm, the server came and told us we only have 20 minutes left to finish the food. We were in the middle of eating the dinner. We finished about half of the food we received, and we still have one bottle of soju drink left to finish. They left the invoice on the table at 7:23pm so that they can get the money fast and kick out customers as soon as possible so that they can have another customer to make more money. The owner must be very very greedy and has no concept of customer service. This is very unfair trading act harassing customers in the middle of the dinner. We all felt very offended and upset, we lost our appetite. The server was very rude. I wanted to talk to the owner but he was not available. Instead, manager came and told us the rule. The manager was even more rude. Most fancy seafood buffet restaurant, Epicurean, in Sydney gives time limit for 1.5 hours. I understand the nature of their business. But Kangnam BBQ is not a buffet restaurant. You can not pluck out customers in the middle of dinner or harass customers by reminding them how much time left to eat. I will never come to this restaurant again. The manager was very rude and he does not know how to make customer to return for another business. The owner's policy on eating time limit is not fair and the owner is very rude and greedy. Please be aware of the time limit which is...

We made a booking for 5 people through the phone in advance, but wasn't told that ONLY tables for BBQ can be booked, ALL other tables you need to walk in and wait to be seated. After we arrived, got seated and ordered our food, we were told by a tall skinny guy with brownish hair in his late 20s or 30s that we only ordered dishes not BBQ so we don't get to sit there, we have to wait an extra one hour. After telling him whoever picked up the phone didn't tell us bookings are only for BBQs, he walked away and pulled out a notebook and started saying only BBQ can be booked again and again. We told him several times we were not told about this. Guess what? He rolled his eyes at us and went away to get another waiter, whom still repeated the fact that they only accepted bookings for BBQ tables.
I don't get it how this kind of thing can happen because I have worked in hospitality industry myself for more than five years. If you booked in advance than you get a table, no matter what happens, that table at that time slot is under your name. If this happened in any of the restaurants I have worked in, our protocol would always be apologise to the customer first then let them sit at the BBQ table because it was our fault for not telling the customer our rules. The only reason that I can think of is that they thought we were those international students who can't speak English so we are easy to pick on. Once I started talking to them in fluent English they shut up and offered us to move to another non-BBQ table instead of waiting for another hour.
btw the food tastes so average, wouldn't...
