Bland options for vegan + gluten free.
I called to request a more affordable option for a bottomless brunch event for myself as I donât drink alcohol and am vegan and gluten free. I was refused a cheaper price as I was told cabana bar prided themselves on having excellent options for people with dietary requirements. I was told a bespoke menu would be organised for me to justify the full price.
This is what I received: when everyone else was given guac and corn chips, I was given guac and some bland white wafer crackers (why was I not just given corn chips?) when everyone else was given zucchini flowers I was given corn ribs (those were nice) when everyone else got arancini, I got 4 white wafer crackers with diced beetroot and sprigs of basil on topâŠ.. That was pitiful and did not interest me. Gluten free and vegan arancini is not difficult, I make it often. when everyone else got tortillas with battered fish or halloumi, I got mushrooms and some other leafy vegetable in a piece of LETTUCE. ???? I can eat corn tortillas! Why was I not given a tortilla? And no protein replacement was made at all.
For the food I was given, the price was exorbitant. When attending bottomless brunches at other venues, I have always been offered a lower price, or no price and buy all my items at my own expense, as the venues ADMIT that their options for me are slim and that I will be consuming less expensive drinks and food.
Cabana bar mislead me massively and should strive to be more inclusive with their menu items, or flexible with pricing when they canât be inclusive. Thankfully I brought my own food to eat afterwards as I was so...
Read moreCame here for a friendâs birthday party and had a bad experience because of the manager (the pink haired lady with the horrible floral dress).
We booked a space for 80 people and were given only half of the space we paid for. The staff only then gave us the entire space when we brought it up, which we found to be weird. What if I didnât bring it up? Would we have only gotten half the space?
Also the manager was giving us all attitude the entire night. Constantly telling us no more drinks when we were clearly not heavily intoxicated or drunk. She would tell us to come back in 15 minutes and when we waited, she said âno moreâ. Like what?
Also after cutting the birthday cake, a friend saw her eat some in the kitchen which is so unprofessional. We did not offer her cake nor did she deserve it after treating us all with disrespect. She then later came back to let us know that some people canât come back to the bar because they have had âtoo muchâ and would get kicked out if they came back asking for drinks. She didnât even tell us which individuals couldnât go back? How are we supposed to let them know not to go back to bar?
One last thing. Some of us knew the bar tab ran out and some didnât. When a group of us went up to grab a drink thinking the tab was still open, the manager poured us the drink then told us the tab was finished? Shouldnât she have mentioned that before pouring the drinks? What if I did not want them anymore because the tab was closed?
Overall, all 50 of us had a horrible experience due to the customer service from the pink haired manager but thank god it did not...
Read moreHonestly I think it looks better on instagram. I think itâs a bit over hyped. Me and my friend booked a table, we were dressed up and then we were shoved to this little table against a black wall. We were like oh thanks. Meanwhile there were plenty of nicer tables available around us. We eventually moved to a nicer table. We went to the bar to enquire about cocktails because there was so much sold out and it was only 7pm on a Saturday night. No suggestions or recommendations were made to us to help us. My friend got a mocktail because she liked the look of it more and asked for a shot to be put into it. Was treated really rudely by the staff. And I couldnât even taste any alcohol in the drinks, which is weird because theyâre like $22-$26 a drink. It didnât have to be super strong but I didnât even feel like I was having a drink at all. The food unfortunately was pretty much cold when we got it, the tacos were ok. But we felt like there wasnât much choice in the menu, it felt really boring. Which is surprising because I thought from instagram that the menu would be super interesting and varied. So honestly donât think I will go back or recommend it. Itâs a shame but there you go. Just get the tacos, donât order the cocktails and donât expect too much from it and youâll have...
