Cafe Arno — Restaurant in Sydney

I have to laugh reading the reviews that comment on the owner Adam. Yes, he can be a princess some days, but seriously, who cares when you see the quality of the food and the price that you pay for it in Double Pay! You are in the Eastern Suburbs, so expect to sometimes cop some attitude. Having eaten at Cafe Arno for over 10 years, and getting to know Adam - I have realised that he means well to the majority, he just doesnt always know how to express it & he does come across as rude. Given the attitude that he and his team receive from some of the would be's if they could be's, I can truly appreciate how hard it must be. Now, back to the cafe - great food, great service (generally) and great prices for what you receive - in comparison to most places in Sydney, not just the Eastern Suburbs. Being the milkshake drinker that I am, receiving a proper milkshake in a tin cup & being charged $7 - compared to being charged $7+ for a "milkshake" in a JAR at some places around - I love this old fashioned way of doing things & feel that its great value for money. Along with the size of the servings of food! Truly, you cannot beat the value for money...

Best chicken soup evah! Really excellent coffee, too. Pastries? Yummy! Outdoor seating with a view of greenery on a relatively quiet street can be your break from the stress of the day. Comfy indoor seating and....owner Adam is the friendly leader behind the great waitstaff.

Street parking is available and honestly, always easy to find a spot!!

Staff - exceptional. Food - fantastic. Everything else that matters - wonderful. However the owner ruins the entire experience! He sits there, glaring at everyone, micromanaging his staff, continuously counting his money, hovering arou d every one and talking bad about some customers when they can't hear him. I feel so sorry for the staff to have to work with him - they deserve so much better! Some of the things that came out of his mouth were vile! :-( So conflicted about whether I want to...
