Cafe Twelve — Restaurant in Sydney

Food is okay but service is terrible. Last time we came, our order was just not put through. After 45 minutes of waiting we were told that it wasn’t coming, after we asked. Decided to give them another go because mistakes happen, and the same thing happened. We got our food after about half an hour which wasn’t an issue it was busy and a public holiday, but we had to enquire about our coffee when we were being served food, after watching two other groups sit down long after us and get their drinks before us. We did eventually get our coffees, but when we brought it up at the checkout we were spoken down to, and told that no order for coffee came through with the food as if it was our fault. There was no offer of discount or reparations, just an incredibly insincere “sorry about that”. There is better food and much better service available at other...

Ive been to cafe 12 many times and havent had an issue. Ive had their version of the big breakfast everytime but today it came out with one piece of overcooked bacon and egg shell through the scrambled eggs. I spoke to the waitress who explained to me that this is how it always is. Much to my surprise as this has never been the case. Then as my partners is halfway through her breakfast burritto she found a black hair sticking out of her burritto. Again i spoke to the waitress who took the plate away then returned about 5 mins later to apologize. When i went to the counter to pay i was asked how everything was. Delicious food Generous servings Excellent service Reasonably priced Great menu with many choices

The husband and wife owners are hardworking and friendly, with the husband being an excellent chef, and his wife a credit to the profession.

They, and their staff, are attentive, welcoming and lovely people.

We will be returning many times.

My only suggestion would be to either replace their tables, which look very worn, or cover them with either a tablecloth or paper-type covering. This would freshen up the outdoor area, and make it a lot more inviting.
