Typical quality Chinese food but with unacceptable service.
Food - $30 banquet, combination laksa, congee. Chinese food as expected. Portions of laksa were large and reportedly tasty. Congee was large but very stingy on ingredients (pork and egg) no shallots resulted in very bland taste. Banquet ended with ice cream dessert that must have melted then re frozen and the bottom of the barrel because it was half watery ice.
Service - wasn't tended to for 30 minutes then when finally ordered waited about 1 hour for some of the banquet entrees to arrive. The banquet was served in strange order with soup coming almost last. Almost all the banquet dishes were served before any of the individual meals so about 8 people were waiting for an hour and a half before seeing any food. Everyone had to leave and the 4 banquet goers waited another 20 mins for the ice cream dessert, which due to it being half ice, no one ate anyway.
The experience was so decisively bad that I will not even entertain the thought of giving them...
Read moreOrdered via UberEats so can’t comment on the Atmosphere of the Restaurant. The food was delicious! We ordered 2x Honey Chicken and it was kept crispy and light. Not overbearing with too much oil and was not soggy. Salt & Pepper Tofu was served in a cake box with crisps at the bottom to soak up excess oil so when it arrived it was also very crispy and delicious. Ordered the Vegetarian Fried Rice and the portion was enough to feed four. Unfortunately one of our dishes did not arrive. I ordered Mongolian Beef with steam rice. The steam rice arrived but not the Beef dish. I called the restaurant to let them know. They sounded very busy the day before Christmas Eve but I did mention that I’ll communicate via UberEats app regarding the missing dish. He seemed very apologetic on the phone which is sincere and lovely to hear. During busy season mistakes can be made and that’s okay! The rest of the order was so good that we would be ordering from here from now on! Can’t wait to go into the restaurant to...
Read moreWent there earlier today for New Years Day Dinner.
Confirmed prior to making a booking that there was no holiday surcharge. When the bill arrived there was a holiday surcharge of $ 3 per person and we were charged $ 22.50 for a pot of green tea!! ...which is ridiculous for a restaurant in Castle Hill.
Food was satisfactory. Been there before but of late it seems like management is more keen on lining their pockets and milking customers than keeping them satisfied and wanting them to come back. Not sure if that is a viable long term strategy.
Also entertainment book voucher was not accepted saying that it was not valid on public holidays (notwithstanding that this was not mentioned on voucher).
Needless to say was disappointed and will not be returning. Please check bills before making any payments. There are several other Chinese restaurants in the local area that place a higher emphasis on customer...
