The decor has been updated recently and it's got an early 20th century feel about it; High ceilings and cast iron trimmings. It's really expensive here, so if you're able to wander slightly further afield from the station then Spice Alley is only around the corner. It's better food and better value. If you're stuck and need to get something be warned! A toasted cheese sandwich is $8. A regular tea is $4.50, but it's a fancy tea bag...so, there's that. It's all fresh food and you have healthy options available like yoghurt, fruit, vegetable packs and salads. You can also get basic hot pastries like pies and sausage rolls. The staff are super friendly. Very chatty and helpful.

The individual shops here are difficult to find. I had a coffee and panini at "convenience bakery" and bought some water and juice. No complaints but it's just like any other coffee outlet. You MUST come in here to look at the artwork/ murals/ panels that run along the top walls. This place used to be the old intestate booking office or ticket office, there is just so much history within these walls. The art panels almost got destroyed by the fire, but they have been carefully restored. One panel in particular caught my eye. In 1787, indigenous hunter - gatherers were making fires, then in 1788, lots of boat ppl arrived. Low key racist or nah?

Regret not reading Google reviews before entering (because if I did i would walk away). The staffs are not friendly, greets you with cold and sleepy face at 9am in the morning. The sandwich is dry (as some other ppl have pointed out). No ice option for latte. We are dine-in customers but the receipt is “take away” The reason why i wanted to leave a review is because their table is VERY DIRTY WITH A THICK, STICKY LAYER OF DARK DIRT. Used 5-6 pieces of wet tissue and it is still not any better. Really concerned of their hygiene standards

I went to the burger stand and the server told me they don't have any beef, only chicken. This was on a quiet Thursday at lunchtime, with maybe 10-15 customers... I'm not sure how they ran out? If you run a burger restaurant you should probably have hamburgers during lunchtime. Service was friendly but all over the place, the one food item they had available (chicken sandwich) was mediocre with a nasty sweet brioche bun, the fries were cold, and to top it off they charged close to $20 for this disappointing meal combo. The staff seemed overwhelmed when really, this place was no busier than the average sandwich store at lunchtime, in fact there were much larger lines at CJs and the various sushi/coffee places nearby. And now I know why. I would avoid this place, they are gouging customers and the quality is sub par. Get a takeaway sandwich from the fridge if you are travelling, but do not dine in unless...

Don’t bother with this outlet. I wanted to buy a hot chocolate - price $4.90. I took out cash and was told I could only pay by credit card by a very surly assistant. Okay I said but found the price was now $8.10 due to the credit card surcharge. $3.20 surcharge??? I don’t think so. What a rip off!! I don’t know that it’s legal to charge so much. If they are going to charge this amount for using a credit card they should have a cash option. I noticed that a croissant cost $8 and all food was extremely overpriced. I think Central Station management needs to put a few rules in place for this food place as it reflects very badly on the station which I find is improving all the time and is quite pleasant now. Anyway, I just said no thank you and walked out. Very...

We had breakfast in this bakery today (October 13) around 9am. We were traveling from overseas and were thirsty. I repeatedly asked the staff to fill up my water bottle and they rudely replied that they were not allowed to do so as it was against company policy. They advised me to go out of the shop to fill up from somewhere else.

I have been an Australian resident for 9 years and this is the first food store that denied me drinking water. If the company thinks that by denying customers tape water they will improve selling of bottled water/beverages, they are living in a fool’s paradise. You will lose customers for something as simple as tape water. This is not how you treat tired, thirsty customers who paid to have food at your premise....
