If you are near Central/Chinatown area it is hard to find a non-asain restuarant that serves good quality food, fast in an actual restaurant. This restaurant filled this gap.
To get here train is ideal, Central station is just across the road (country train side). There are many bus lines that stop very close by, as well. The restaurant on the corner of Pitt Street and Rawson Place and the YHA is next door. Even though the restaurant was on the corner of two main roads it did not suffer from noisy traffic sounds.
The space is open and bright. There is plenty of room on the tables for a laptop or business papers. Wifi is available, password is on a post next door to the cash register and bar. Table service is provided. Toilet are upstairs (there is a sign inside, which points you in the right direction).
Our order was taken quickly and the food arrived promptly.
Ther $13.90 lunch special is great value, it includes a meal and a beverage, for a $1 extra you can upgrade your beverage to a glass of wine or a lemon, lime and bitters. The lunch special is served from 12.30 pm to 3 pm.
The burger and chip option was ordered, the chips were thick 'steak fries' and cooked just right, the burger was big and fresh. The chicken and mushroom risotto was great; if your aren't a fan of cheese as them to leave it...

Moments later she reappeared with the menu, I ordered a small flat-white coffee, and a Prosciutto Pesto Turkish. The tables have those QR code things that allow you to order and pay at the table, but I was told that I could pay afterwards at the counter.
I didn't have too long to admire the cosy decor, or listen to the pleasant music being played over the sound system, before the coffee and cutlery arrived. The coffee was smooth and creamy, not too hot, ideal for immediate consumption. The Prosciutto Pesto arrived soon after, it tasted fresh and delicious, the Pesto flavour was just strong enough to be enjoyable, but not so much that it overpowered the overall meal. All this for $20.40, good value these days, considering the high quality of food and service....
Read moreA lovely and pretty serene cafe that’s very much enjoyable to come to wind down, read, study, work, or chill out with friends. It’s located right next to the Haymarket light rail so it’s become a frequent meeting spot for me and my friend (he’s at UNSW and I at Usyd). The aesthetic of the place is cozy and inviting. It had some nice walnut and darker wood furniture, as well as some mahogany leather couches that compliment the earth colours and dark greenery on the walls. It’s a great spot with friendly, respectful staff, and it’s adored by locals and new comers alike. Whether you’re waiting for the light rail, meeting with friends, or just a cafe enthusiast looking for a comfy spot with a nice view, I can’t recommend the In cafe enough, as well as its broad (and delicious) selection of food and drink for all occasions! Have a go if...
