If I could leave a minus one for this rating I would gladly do so. I have been here about 3 times, all times the coffee has been bland. Anyway still went this morning because the husband likes the long black. So upon ordering today, midway during our order the barista interrupts the staff talking our order and starts jabbering on about something else (in a really rude way). Umm yeh.. great customer service etiquette. Anyway so she pottered off and the staff said sorry she interrupted our order(which at least he realised was rude to do). We finished placing the order and they stuffed it up. Gave people who ordered after us OUR order and the girl was apparently allergic to soy - i could tell she was annoyed - so then we had to wait further for our coffee Anyway i requested nicely for the barista girl to make my coffee with less milk but she made the soy milk curdle? I wasn't going to do anything about it.. but hey you know if your first morning coffee sucks your generally not in a good mood. So husband insisted on requesting if they can make it again and i heard the barista mutter something loudly. The answer was a no of course. Anyway there have been other instances last 2 times where they don't listen to your order such as when you request sit in and they give your coffee in take away cups. Little niggling things like that coupled with extremely rude etiquette which overall are not going to work in this business's favour. Not...
Read moreCame here on a whim on a Sunday afternoon. It looked busy and had lots of cakes on display which were visually appealing. Seemed like a good sign. We ordered 2 iced lattes which were your average expectation. We also ordered the Lemon Crumble. The Lemon Crumble had a bottom layer of lemon curd and a thick layer of mousse and was topped with the crumble. The topping was ok but the lemon flavour throughout was very muted - no punch, no zest, and there was the distinct gummy mouth feel of too much gelatin. After a few small bites we decided not to eat the rest of it and to try something else instead. Told the older man in charge at the register that the lemon crumble was not lemony and had too much gelatin and I would like to try something else and he just said, “oh yeah” and made no other comment. Decided to try the Tiramisu. Again with the taste of gelatin on a mousse spread between ‘chocolate’ sponge that looked chocolate colored but lacked chocolate flavor and there were no coffee soaked lady’s fingers and no marscapone. They tried to mask it by sprinkling choc powder on top. Definitely not tiramisu. Politely told the man at the counter my thoughts but he couldn’t care less. He just said thank you and then ignored me. Will definitely not come back....
Read moreThis café in Strathfield is an absolute aesthetic delight, with a beautifully designed interior that makes for a great dining experience. The counter service was friendly and efficient, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. However, while there were many positives, a few aspects left us wanting more.
The matcha strawberry and mango iced lattes were easily the best we’ve had in Sydney—rich in flavor and visually stunning. That said, we couldn’t help but feel that the price was a bit steep, especially considering that a large portion of the drink was just ice. It would have been great to get a little more actual liquid for what we paid.
As for the food, we tried the croast, which was an interesting dish. The flavors were decent, but the overwhelming amount of rocket didn’t quite work for us. It felt a bit out of balance, though the extra chorizo we added complemented the dish nicely.
One thing we didn’t get to try this time was the cakes, but they looked absolutely incredible. We’ll definitely be coming back to sample them. Overall, a great café with a lot of potential, but a few tweaks could make the experience...
