Strongly disappointed by our experience at this restaurant as what they told us when we initially walked in was different to what they told us at the counter. We saw on Service NSW that this restaurant was included in the $25 dining voucher initiative. We entered and double confirmed with the workers showing the voucher and asked whether we were at the correct place and if they accepted the voucher. The staff said yes and confirmed with us. Because the staff member confirmed that they were part of the initiative, we ordered with the assumption that we would get $25 off. When we arrived at the counter, they told us the voucher is not eligible at the restaurant. They have not started yet and do not know how to do it unless the manager is there. Since they initially said yes to us, we requested that they call the manager so we could have use the voucher as promised. They rang the manager and there was nothing he could do. They came to us after and told us that we have to pay full price. And that the voucher will be valid if we come again in the near future, but not right now since the manager isn't there. If it weren't for myself explaining that we ordered with the assumption that we would have $25 off, they wouldn't have given us...
Read moreKorean-Chinese restaurant (Korean interpretation of Chinese cuisine, which is well established in Korea for many decades). It was very busy and people were lining up outside to visit on a Sunday at lunchtime. Dishes were not bad. Jaeng-ban jja-jang was enough for 2-3 people, with cuttlefish, shrimp and pork. A little sweet but ok. Japchae-bap was also not bad, portion was generous. Tang-soo-yook was not terrible, but it wasn't exactly traditional in terms of meat cut or batter (it was dry and cut in thin strips). It came with a fried ?roti which was interesting, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The sauce for it was good, and I liked that it came separately instead of poured on top of the fried meat.
In terms of using government vouchers, they were accepting only 1 per table when we went.. even if there were 3 people (the government website says that you can combine multiple vouchers for the same meal as long as you use one per resident, so we got a rude shock come time to pay, which soured the experience). The restaurant should have made their 'rule' clear, especially since we asked about using vouchers before...
Read moreThe worst customer service I have ever experienced whilst eating out. Whilst we can usually accept mistakes can be made when busy, this restaurant and their staff have done multiple things to leave us very unsatisfied with our meal. Firstly, the waitress made a very annoyed face when we requested scissors and when she returned with them, she came to our side and tapped our shoulder with the scissors without saying a word. One of our dishes arrived so late the rest of the group had finished eating (we suspect they forgot the order). The 'nengmyun' that they serve is far from the actual Korean dish and it was left untouched because we could not eat it. After all that, I do have to say the portions for the jajangmyun and jjampong were good though. Unfortunately they were not good enough for me to consider returning to this...
