Beware, they’ll double charge your bill. I had breakfast one morning with a friend. We both ordered our meals and a coffee each. The food was what you’d expect to receive at a cafe, nothing extraordinary (quite pricey in my opinion). Once we’ve finished our meals, the waitress came to our table with an eftpos machine to pay. Paid for the lot and started heading down the street. The waitress came chasing after me stating that my payment didn’t go through (I get these things happen). I went back inside and paid. The following day, I noticed two payments were taken from my account so I called Barone in the morning. I explained what happened and she completely ignored me. I was told to call back in a few hours once they’re not so busy. I called back twice, three times, four. And each time, I was given the same response.. “call back”. Finally I was asked to give details such as time, date and amount of transaction and that the manager would call me in the afternoon. Again.. nothing. I called back the following morning and I was asked to come into the cafe to handle the issue. Unfortunately, I work during their business hours and happened to have had the day off when I decided to dine with them. I asked my boss if I could leave work early and I finallllly got my money back after multiple phone calls and rude staff who don’t seem to care about the mistakes they do. The staff member had the audacity to say “ohh yeah, this sometimes happens”. I wonder how many people have been double charged and never realised. Read moreDO NOT EAT OR DRINK HERE!! We normally have coffee here at least once a week. My family members eat/drink here too. - Not anymore. Today, after nearly finishing my cappuccino and spinning the cup around to take my last sip I found red/pink lipstick on the side of the cup. I was not, and do not wear red lipstick... This is not the first time we have received dirty eating implements. On a previous occasion, one of the forks we were given had caked on food stuck to it. YUK! When I approached the staff member behind the counter in relation to the dirty cup, I was discreet so others did not hear me complain as mistakes do happen. But her response was a nonchalant "Oh really" that was it, no apology, offer of a refund or replacement (which I would not have accepted) nothing. Bad customer service, hence writing this review now. Even now I feel like vomiting, how utterly disgusting. I washed my mouth with sanitizer upon getting to the car. The cup was obviously not washed. What do they do with their cutlery and china, just hand rinse it?? I wish we would have taken a photo of it, but I wiped the cup to see if it was colouring in the cup or the disaster I ended up learning. We will NEVER return to this place and...
Read moreRecieved pretty bad service today. One of the waitresses started off well and greeted me and gave me a menu. I said I was getting takeaway only and they pointed at the cashier. I ordered a coffee frappe and before paying I asked the girl if they put any syrup inside. She told me vanilla which is what I had wanted. I pay and she advises "we ran out of Whipped cream". I said that's fine but would've appreciated it before ordering if anything was missing from the order especially for a $9 coffee frappe. I saw down to wait for the coffee since I'm holding so many things. The cashier calls out "you're doing take away right?" LOL.. yes, it made me feel like I was taking up their space despite the place being quiet.
Now the ultimate fail was getting the so called coffee frappe. It was more like watered down coffee.. I have never had such a bad frappe before. It did not have any vanilla syrup as she had told me. I don't know if the guy who made it was new. I would've complained but I got it as a treat for someone so I didn't try it before hand. That was a big disappointment. It you're going to charge cafe prices then actually make a good coffee....
