Disappointing Experience at Harris Park Chulos
We recently visited Harris Park Chulos, expecting an authentic and enjoyable Nepali dining experience, but unfortunately, we left very disappointed, despite the staff being polite and fantastic throughout our visit.
We ordered the Veg Momo, Buff Sukuti Set, Veg Chow Mein, and Chicken Momo (takeaway). Here’s a breakdown of our experience: Buff Sukuti Set • The first set served had hair in the marinated peanuts (peanut sadeko), which was unacceptable. We returned it, and the replacement was decent but far from impressive. • The achar lacked any flavor or freshness, tasting as though it had been taken straight out of the fridge. There was no lemon or zestiness one would expect from a proper achar. • The sukuti itself was extremely disappointing—oily, gravy-like, and not the dry-fried style we were expecting. For $30, we anticipated a flavorful and authentic dish but were left with something unappetizing. Veg Momos • The vegetable momos tasted stale. I could only eat three or four before deciding to pack the rest, as they were simply not enjoyable. Veg Chow Mein • The chow mein was the only saving grace of the meal, along with the Coke we ordered. It was decent but not exceptional. Chicken Momos (Takeaway) • Even as a takeaway, the quality didn’t stand out, making the overall experience even more disappointing.
We ended up paying $85 for the entire meal, which was absolutely not worth it considering the poor quality of the food. While we appreciate the politeness and attentiveness of the staff, the overall quality of food and lack of authentic flavors made this visit deeply unsatisfactory.
We hope the management will take this feedback seriously to improve their...
Read moreDO NOT !!!!! Please note the number of 1 star are as much as number of 5 star reviews here. I get it they put MSG to make the food taste YUMMM. I used to visit the place almost twice a week and order online food at least once a week say 3 times a week at the least. All was well, until I recommended we go to CHULO for a friends birthday party and we did 9 OF US. Had all the variety of food and got cockroach in most awaited dish. For a regular customer at least an apology or say I am sorry we will make sure we will take care of this. All we got was an Eh, when paying the sum and inquired about the owner dai, we got ehh "Mama ta baira janu bhacha".
Exactly the way poiliticians treat Nepal. If you don't want to promote this kind of behavior pls don't visit. I mean we could have filed complaint for hygiene etc, but well kei garera khanchu bhaneko manche lai nagarum bhanera. Otherwise if you just hear word of mouth and see bunch of 5 star review do reconsider. AND don't have high expectations after all you might get a ROACh on your meal.
Edit: Response to sadhbuddhi on Jul17 2024 Dear Responder, I am a regular google reviewer as such i had reviewed the old review. This is not a new review. Now that you have gone ahead and vented out unnecessary. Hear me out, kaliyug, tiktok, mahabharat adi ityadi paath sunaunu bhanda all we seeked was an apology. But still tyai bhede mentality liya cha basya cha nana bhati response garya cha k taal ho ? Sorry galti bhayo discount dinchum or just a simple apology deko bhae k hunthyo ? Ego tyatro cha business chalako cha sadhai compliments ko aas cha ki better huna critical review lai constructive way ma feedbak dine. Aalooo ho jasto lagya thyo pidalu niskyo tori...
Read moreI had one of the most disappointing dining experiences at this restaurant, and I feel compelled to share. To begin with, they initially served us dishes that weren’t even meant for our table, which was a bit concerning. While they did correct the mistake, it set the tone for what turned out to be a truly underwhelming meal.
As the food arrived, my disappointment only grew. The overall taste and quality were far below what I would expect from a restaurant at this price point. A lot of the chicken and lamb dishes were served cold, and they were drenched in an overwhelming amount of garlic and chili. It was almost impossible to taste anything other than those two ingredients. While I’m a fan of both garlic and chili, the balance was off, and the dishes lacked any depth or complexity in flavor.
The meats themselves were of very poor quality, tough, chewy, and not appetizing at all. The curries were bland and far from the rich, flavorful experience I was hoping for. I’ve had plenty of curries over the years, and this was by far the worst.
On a positive note, the momos were the highlight of the meal. They were decent, though still a bit too spicy on the inside. I love chili, but even I found it to be a bit much. However, the overall quality of the food left much to be desired.
After spending $140, more than 80% of the food went uneaten. That should speak volumes about the lack of quality and taste. I would highly recommend avoiding this restaurant if you’re looking for a satisfying and enjoyable meal. The only redeeming factor was the staff, who were friendly and accommodating. But unfortunately, no amount of good service can make up for poor food.
