I had booked this place for my girlfriend and I because she wanted me to take her to a French restaurant, and this is really the only one close. I had the reservation for 7pm…
when we got to the restaurant there was no one there, the place hadn't been opened yet. Then at about 7:15pm someone showed up. The owners must live in the apartments above the restaurant because they came down the elevators in the foyer next to the restaurant, hurrying to the restaurant door with a cardboard box filled with pots and other implements. The first to come down was a female, who looked as though she had just gotten out of the shower and hadn't dried her hair or dressed properly. 5 minutes later a man came down and scurried into the restaurant as well.
We waited outside for another 5 minutes, they still hand't turned the lights on by 7:30pm or opened the front door. We decided that if they hadn't even opened on time and were completely unprepared for customers that the night would be slow and frustrating. The lack of consideration for their customers as well not to even show up when they knowingly had a reservation is egregious, maybe the most shockingly bad restaurant experience I have ever had.
This is not a restaurant, there's no professionalism. It's more like someone's cafe that they run, very badly, out of their own backyard and show up when and whether they feel like it. I couldn't imagine then how low class the service and food would have to be then without that self discipline and standard that a kitchen needs to run...
Read moreWell, well, well...what to say. First, I am French and therefore know what French food should be like. To try and find something positive to say: the waitress was lovely.
For the rest...it was incredibly expensive for a Coles meal. Yes, I mean bad food. I mean, really bad food.
There was nothing French in there (nor Swiss as the so-called fondue we were served. it certainly didn't contain any so-called imported cheese...far far from it as it was mostly water mixed flour and a touch of cheese, wherever that came from).
We had some gnocchis (clearly from a Coles supermarket packet with some half cooked) that really tasted like plastic. Not even needed to explain what the sauce was like. Also had an onion soup, which, too, was from a premade packet. The very worst and most expensive was that stuff they called fondue lol. I mean, LOL!!!!
NOT ONLY DID IT TASTE BAD, IT LOOKED EVEN WORSE! anyone who has ever had a real fondue would know this is a rip-off and a misleading menu. My wife had a bad feeling as soon as we walked in and thankfully changed my mind so I wouldn't get a fondue main course as she was getting anxious by looking at the kitchen. Good call! We couldn't even finish the entree fondue as it tasted like a dog's dinner. We ordered extras too...like cornichons, which were instead sweet gerkins for a meer $10! Lol. There is no need to explain the rest. Hopefully, you get the picture.
Overpriced, to say the least. Nothing like French food that is for sure.
Sorry for the...
