Last week a large group of us had a pretty bad experience in café Corellies. Even though we go there often. (Which means we contribute in business)
There was working Pushan who brought 2 coffees to our table and after he has left, we realized that it was not for us it was for a different table but we did not know which coffee was which one.
I approached Pushan to clarify, I said: excuse me, and try to explain what has happened, he cut my sentence off and started to shout at me and pointing his finger at me and telling me that I do not have to tell all story and he will fix it, so he did not even listen to know what he has to fix. I tried to remind him that he is talking to the client but it was hopeless, he said: “I am not shouting, go and sit at your place and I will fix the problem, he repeated over and over pointing with his finger and not even trying to listen. I asked the manager's name he said I am the manager (It was not true as we knew it is a different person) I asked his name he refused and just told me to go and sit at my place
After, that 2 people from the group left as it was not a pleasant scene on Sunday afternoon when you want to relax and have lunch with friends.
Eventually, I found out the owner’s contact from the other staff member and spoke to the owner. Despite that, this morning that guy was still working there and so no changes have happened,
I would not recommend that place as they do not train their people to be a good cultural suit for Australian hospitality standards or make them redundant if they are not suited for this industry. Imagine the quality of food or drink that you get with these negatively charged emotions. His behaviour was also impacting his co-workers and...
Read moreSo disappointed by my experience here today. Been coming to Correllis for literally 20 years, it’s been my go to place in Sydney. Arrived today with my son, who I hadn’t seen for months, and wanted to take him and his partner out for breakfast. We waited for service for 10 minutes to no avail even though only two other tables with people, so went to order coffee and shake at the counter. Coffee came out no shake, went back in to find out the order hadn’t been recorded. Waited another ten minutes for service for food, again to no avail. Went back inside to order food, 3 breakfasts, 10 minutes later someone came out and told me one of the items in my meal wasn’t available, I said OK please just replace which they said OK to. 15 minutes later one of the breakfasts came out missing half the ingredients and the guy (was the chef, don’t know why he was doing table service) told us the halloumi was coming. Waited another 10 minutes with our half plate sitting in front of us and then they bought out 3 breakfasts. Turned out what they had served us was someone else’s breakfast, who then got given it after it had sat in front of us for 10 minutes. I started to eat my breakfast to find out it was cold and they not replaced the missing ingredient. I said to my son, after apologising to him, that it was probably in my top 3 worst restaurant/cafe experiences ever. Really I don’t think I’m ever going back which after 20 years is pretty sad. Correlli’s used to be so good but seems they’ve cut their costs so much it’s just a bad...
Read moreDisappointing and wont be going back This has obviously changed ownership so it is difficult to write this review as we have always loved this Cafe on previous visits. I couldnt see the new name anywhere if its changed names. This is no reflection on the previous owner.
Went for breakfast and ordered the big breakfast. Firstly i missed the friendly welcome. I think they were perhaps having a bad day and it showed.
The meal was nothing short of dreadful and could not be eaten. An almost full plate was left by us both.
The poached eggs were so overcooked they almost bounced, the bacon and baked beans were cold. We noticed a person who arrived after us get served well before us so im assuming it was sitting for a while. The hashbrown was soggy and not cooked properly. The fritter had obviously been microwaved and was rubbery. The toast tasted like it had been frozen. Not eatable.
How disappointing. We sat there for a while waiting for someone to notice but were ignored. Apart from the 1 person who had now left there was noone else there. I now understand why. $60+ totally wasted.
I didnt have confidence when i ordered as was advised they were waiting on an order and were out of some things.
Some people shouldnt own a Cafe. Wont...
