Lovely, wonderful and kind staff. Very fun venue! One of my favourite pubs to go to of all time. Love it here! 😁💜💙

Update as of the 31/10/21 Unfortunately I did have a negative experience from one female manager who was extremely rude and has been once before too. Definitely not a pleasent experience as most of my other experiences here have been. To be honest, this is one of my favourite pubs but this manager has now ruined my stay twice, and I don't think I will be going back. If I do, it will not be when she is working. Very awful. Has gotten involved with personal situations which she shouldn't have, accused myself and my friends of doing the wrong thing when all we were trying to do was help out other friend, and has told me off when I was trying to talk to someone I was becoming friends with in the pokie room. Very unpleasant and extremely unprofessional. Other than this lady, everyone else at the Townie has been absolutely lovely and amazing and wonderful. Booked the Cactus Rooftop for a function for my brothers 21st birthday. We were placed in the Blue Banquette section. This section reeked of urine, not only because it was next to the upstairs toilets but the smell from the toilets seemed to be coming from vents in the wall, making the smell intense and inescapable. The manager on duty was rude and unfriendly from the start. We weren’t told about the “council sound regulations” which meant there was no music at all playing when we got there, we had to play our own through a speaker the venue had sitting up there. The manager came and turned the music right down which was an instant vibe kill. When we did speeches with our own microphone (which wasn’t very powerful, I couldn’t hear the speeches properly sitting a few metres away) the manager came up with security and threatened us with a $5,000 fine. This was at 8:30pm on a Friday evening. You should disclose to people booking a function that you essentially cannot cater properly for the needs of the function, and as a basic courtesy stop taking bookings until you have fixed the...

We are regular patrons every Sunday and also on Mondays and Thursdays for the members' draw and joker poker raffles, always had a great time and never had any issues with the security staff, but now they have a new security guy named "Sammy" who stepped us aside and started asking a series of questions as if he was the police or immigration officer, and accused us of showing signs of intoxication when we had literally just got off our push bikes and parked them outside the pub, and would never ever ride our bikes while being intoxicated! We asked if he had a breath analyzer to back up his claim and he said they dont use that, so how could he be so sure? What many brain-dead security staff fail to realize, is that it is easy to mistake someone that might be tired after a long day of work (and maybe have dry eyes) with intoxication ! As much as we reported it to the Manager and she was very nice and dealt with the security guy, it has put us off from coming on Monday and Thursday as we would rather not risk having to deal with the same brain-dead...
