I leave a lot of reviews, especially when a place truly stands out—and Costi Bros. Seafood in Roselands definitely deserves the praise. I recently ordered their grilled seafood platter and was seriously impressed. Everything on the plate was fresh, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. The fish was beautifully grilled—soft, flaky, and full of natural flavour. It wasn’t over-seasoned, which allowed the freshness of the fish to really shine. The octopus was another highlight—tender, not rubbery, with just the right amount of char from the grill. You could tell it had been properly prepared and not rushed. The prawns were incredibly fresh—plump, juicy, and full of flavour. They were grilled just right and didn’t have that dried-out texture you sometimes get elsewhere. Even the sides were a win. The chips were golden and crispy, and the salad was fresh, crunchy, and balanced out the richness of the seafood. Portion sizes were generous, and the platter left me feeling satisfied without being overly heavy. You can tell there’s a real focus on quality ingredients and good technique in the kitchen. Presentation was neat, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout. It’s always a bonus when the service matches the food, and at Costi Bros., both are top-notch. You get the feeling that they really care about what they’re serving and take pride in doing things right. If you're in or near Roselands and love your seafood, I definitely recommend checking them out. I’ll be back again soon—next time I might even try the fried options, but for now, that grilled platter is going to be hard to beat.

If you're looking for top-notch seafood in the Roselands area, look no further! The displays here are immaculate, showcasing the vibrant color and clear quality of their fresh fish and seafood. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great advice – perfect for when you're trying to decide on the best options for a family meal. With a very wide selection, including something to please even the pickiest eaters in the family, they also offer a delicious range of freshly made salads that are a real time-saver. Their freshly cooked-to-order fish and chips is another excellent option for a quick and easy family dinner. Theres alot of tables and seating area around the shop. While the prices are reasonable, the quality of the seafood definitely justifies the cost, making it good value for a family meal. It's worth noting that the shop gets quite busy on weekend mornings, particularly between 9 am and 12 pm, so plan your visit accordingly. The convenience of ample parking within the Roselands mall is a significant bonus, just be mindful that the car park can also be quite busy during those peak hours.

The shop is beautiful with a great range of very fresh seafood & the oysters are shucked at the store where customers can watch. There is also a cooked seafood section as well which also offers a nice range of different fresh salads as well. The only thing that disappointed me from this very reputable & well known seafood vendor is that they sell Basa as Pacific Dory just to fool unsuspecting customers. I am very well aware that Basa is marketed under several different names but selling Vietnamese Farmed catfish as Pacific Dory is just not ethical from a seafood retailer as large as Costis. Most customers would probably not see the only indication being the Product of Vietnam at the bottom of the price label. Even Aldi is honest about selling Basa as Basa with no fancy smokescreen names to fool their customers. The sooner the Single Fish Naming Standard is introduced the better to outlaw this misleading & deceptive practice the better. So come on Costis...set the way & do the right thing & drop the Pacific Dory labelling & start selling Basa as Basa.

What an amazing fish shop! We have been buying our fish here for years and we live out in Liverpool!! So happy to see a larger shop with a great variety of seafood. It smells so clean, like the ocean. The fish has always been fresh and tastes amazing! You can tell that they thrive on the quality of their seafood.

I really like the idea of fish and chips in the shop and the salads look so fresh and colourful. Will be trying this soon.

This is the kind of business that cares for there customers first , and they know their fish well.

The owners are such warm, kind and friendly people and always there to help you. They all work very hard. They seem to know a lot about how to cook a specific fish, sharing recipes, etc.

I say kind, as I was put in a embarrassing situation, my own fault, and they helped me out. I was so touched by this kindness and realised that the owners are actually very kind and genuine people. I have noticed that they also have a great team working for them.

I do hope they expand in the Liverpool area, and I have recommended friends to shop there for the best and freshest seafood.

Well done everyone, keep up the good work :)

UPDATE: My husband and I went today for lunch. 21/12/2019. We ordered the mix grill, and it was amazing! Came with a good helping of chips, and greek salad, perfect!

The fish was very fresh, the octopus very tasty, the prawns were absolutely delicious , and the calamari rings were so tender!

It tasted and was presented just like the ones in a seafood restaurant, and the price was worth it, for the amount of food that we had.

We ate everything, nothing was left...

The different types of fresh fish I have bought from Costis have always been fantastic. A+++ Fresh and delicious. Good deals at times as well!

Have tried Costis in a few places like the Fish Market, Rose Bay, Bondi Junction (if there) - possibly even Circular Quay although that might actually be another one. Some Fish and Chips experiences have been truly great, but years ago...not now.

The Fish & Chips nowadays, I don't particularly like them as the oil tastes a bit sour, let's just say it is not like good old fashioned NZ style Fish and Chips at all! The seafood salad isnt for me either.

When it comes to the prawns - hit and miss. Sometimes they are cooked and salted to perfection and other times too salty even to eat.

Just bought some fresh prawns and mussels from there recently and found that the mussels tasted really strange - metallic taste and like they were overdone. On looking at the container I discovered they had actually expired about a week before I bought them.

Contacted them to let them know and to get them to check the expiration dates on the other containers.

Hoping I don't get food poisoning and will be returning there with the...
