Our family and exteneded family had dinner at the venue and our reservation took 3/4 of their dining room. Our table ordered the Set E menu and we also had kids we 'tried' to order more.
Firstly for a dining room full of patrons there was minimal staff to attend to customer. Second their was only 1 staff member setting up, who seemed to work in slow motion. Dining room was not set up, booking was made by another family member at least 1 month ago. We unfortunately were not served what we paid for, not enough rice, missing food on what was on the Set menu then when someone else ordered and paid for 2 x extra dish, it wasn't served and was told it was never ordered. We showed them our bank APP. They still didn't make it as they said it was not ordered. We re-ordered and paid again. When we received the 2 x extra dishs, it was a very disappointing portion.
The food overall was also disappointing, apart from not enough food for our table, servings were super small, food was not great, dry, tasteless and the halo halo was somewhat disappointing too. A positive comment from our table was at least the 3 small crabs served on our table was fresh which was supposed to be shared by 7 x adults.
There was no receipt when you ask for one, the place doesn't have an EFT maching and paying via direct bank deposit or cash is the only way they accept payment.
Overall if I could give a negative 1 review I would. But a very disappointing experience overall. For me and my family this is a restaurant I will...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to dine at Cucina de Manila restaurant, and I must say, it was an average experience overall. The food, while not exceptional, was okay. However, there were a few aspects that left me underwhelmed.
Starting with the halohalo, it was a relief that it wasn't too sweet. Many establishments tend to go overboard with the sugar, so that was a pleasant surprise. However, I found it lacking that "wow" factor that makes halohalo truly indulgent and enjoyable.
Moving on to the interior, I couldn't help but notice that there is room for improvement. The ambiance felt a bit lackluster and didn't quite match up to the expectations set by the restaurant's name and cuisine. Investing in some renovations or adding more personality to the decor would greatly enhance the dining experience.
One major downside during my visit was the presence of flies. It's never pleasant to have unwanted guests buzzing around your food. This was a significant detractor from an otherwise average meal.
In conclusion, Cucina de Manila restaurant offers an okay dining experience with some hits and misses. While the food isn't outstanding, it's still decent enough to satisfy your cravings. However, improvements in the interior and addressing the issue with flies would go a long way in elevating the overall...
Read moreWhat a boodle.
We are 16 guests, celebrating birthday of a friend. We have boodle lunch. Most guests are Australians. They were so happy to learn Filipino history on how the soldiers ate shared food during the war which foster camaraderie.
Everything tastes fantastic. The crab were sweet. The sauce for the crispy port knuckle yum. I love the eggplant omelet. The eggplant has the smoky grilled taste and then made into omelet. The Tilapia fish was fantastic. Spring roll hot. But all of us said laing or
I gave service a 4 as we have 2 guests who are coeliac. They were not helpful over the phone. But when we were already there on that day, they were good. I have a feeling their English is not that good so they were not comfortable talking.
Calamansi juice was good. For me the halo halo lack ingredients but cant complain.
5 star as we had a fantastic experience. Everyone is still talking about the food.
Tip: bring a huge container for leftovers as there are heaps of food. Or don't let all the rice be tipped on the banana leaf if your group is not into rice. We threw a lot of rice which we didn't like. We tried taking all the rice home but was too much food. Highly recommend the boodle. We are 16 people...
