I honestly hate to write a bad review because I know that this can make or break a business. However, after my second bad experience I feel like I have to say something. I come to this cafe quite frequently as it is convenient for me as I’m disabled and it’s the closest place that I can walk to with my walking stick. The first bad experience was when I had to use part cash and part card for payment, but when I went to use my loyalty card, the gentleman wouldn’t swipe it because he had rung it up as 2 separate transactions? He quickly tried to dismiss me when I explained that even though I paid with 2 different means of currency, I still had paid in total for one coffee? The man was quite rude and said “there’s your coffee, bye”. I was embarrassed for looking quite pathetic and obviously wasting his time, so I left. The second bad experience was when I actually gave the lady $4.50 and my coffee was $4.40 so I waited for my change but she went off and served other customers. The same gentleman was there and I explained to him what had happened. He brushed me off again and said he couldn’t do anything because he didn’t serve me. In the other ladies defence, she did ask me what happened and was very apologetic but the gentleman quickly handed me my change, again brushing me off. I’m so embarrassed that I had waited for 10 cents change but I’m already embarrassed about my disability, so to be treated like an inconvenience...
Read moreI attended your Castle Hill Franchise today as I have done just about every morning since it opened - Mon - Friday on my way to the office, and it has always been a good experience and good coffee.
Today however was a very difference story and I am still gobsmacked!
Obviously, there has been a change of ownership and after our encounter with what I can only assume is the new owner we will not be returning. My work colleague and I ordered our usually coffee, 2 large Almond Latte's one of which we ask to be weak. The order was made and left on the counter , we walked over and it was just one milk latte ( we had paid for 2), my friend said we ordered 2 Almond Lattes but the owner was adamant that we didn't and proceeded to argue rather loudly the point. He then made the coffee again reluctantly I might add, but when handed over to us he said that we were lying and that we hadn't ordered Almond Milk, we were taken aback at his response which everyone heard and continued to say we were lying and didnt ask for Almond milk. Why not just apologies, remake the coffee? I will be surprised if anyone returns after his display of abuse and we certainly wont be.
I am lost for words on the whole situation, I work in customer service and if he had been a staff member speaking to a client, he would have been walked out the door. Perhaps you need to find a new franchisee!

Read moreService is appalling. I am not even surprised to see all the negative comments here. For some reason, I went to this cafe this morning instead of the much preferred Dolcettini! (Best coffee on this level and best customer service) 1. Barista made skim instead of soy - blames the order taker - who clearly wrote soy! No apologies to the customer but replaced with soy. 2. Asian lady smug, unfriendly checks on the order taker and looks away not paying any particular attention to the order, doesn’t look the customer in the eye like in a bad mood. 3. 10 minutes later, all 3 of them forget about the rest of the order which is a buttered croissant. I tried to get any of their attention but the one who wasn’t doing anything deliberately ignores me. The order taker, grabs the croissant quickly forgetting to heat it up but I was too flustered to even say anything about it. She apologised and I told her not to because it wasn’t her fault. It was the lady who was supervising who truly didn’t care about anything and did not guide her to show her what to do. She carried on with a smug face like she didn’t care! I am hoping she is not the franchise owner because if she was, she shouldn’t be working in food service. Not hospitable at all! You should all try to order a coffee from Dolcettini and see how polite and respectful they all are there at all times even when no one...
