Really looked forward to coming here as we love dumplings. Unfortunately... It quickly went downhill. The table they tried to put us at was a high-rise bar table, with hard seats. We asked for a booth and they allowed us to move. Order from the QR code on the table. Have to go to the bar for drinks, no table service. Bar selection wasn't great. Asked about the wine list and the 12v year old behind the bar said she didn't know. Eventually received a very cheap and nasty white. Got a text message to say that our food was ready to pick up from the kitchen counter. This was a surprise to us as we weren't told there wasn't any table service for for either... Lucky I saw the message in my smart watch as I didn't hear my phone beep due to the music. The food... It wasn't great. It was okay. But it definitely didn't seem hand made - more like mass produced and reheated food. Considering the price point there are much, much better options around the area. We went and tried it, but left...
Read moreSecond time going on a Friday night around 10pm. The venue it self looks good, cannot comment on food as we didn’t eat, drinks were what you see what you get which was fine too, it was a younger crowd which I believe is what they aim for especially when the dance floor starts, but just as the first time we went the DJ really ruined the experience. His music choice isn’t the issue, it’s the fact that he will play the one song for about 10 seconds maximum, he then spins another song into it but before the MAIN CHORUS LINE or the “crowd pleaser line”…. What is he thinking? Read the room man. Some of the songs were great, but play it a little longer let people get the feel for the music. Just as you start to dance to the song it changed. Unfortunately out west we don’t have many (if any) options for late night clubs therefor there isn’t much competition, so probably no potential for change. But I hope management read this, maybe let...
Read moreIn short, this is a cocktail bar that looks like a really trendy nightclub that also serves dumplings.
For each of those three, I would rate it like this.
Food: Awesome, loved it. It's ordered via your phone and you pick it up from the back. Honestly, that didn't bother me but some may find that odd. Also yes, they do takeaway.
Atmosphere: Really interesting if this was a cocktail lounge, loved the LED/Neon look. As a restaurant setting though, it's really not the way to go if you weren't planning on making a night of it.
Cocktails: Horrible. Legit the worst Negroni (it has three ingredients) I've had. The other drink had premium ingredients but could have been a bog standard mixer. Get one of the four the beers, even if you don't drink beer.
With some tweaking of the way they operate, this could be a huge hit and it's worth keeping on the radar. Just go in thinking it's a bar with food and...
