The place and ambiance was nice and calming , the staff are friendly and attentive , order arrived at reasonable time but we find the serving small , you need to order 2 serving of all the menu if you’re 5 in a group , but that means it will limit your order to just another 4 dishes as they only allow 6 dishes at a time before you can make another order of 6 dishes . We didn’t like the taste of most of the dishes we ordered , the dessert like jelly is too hard and doesn’t taste good , the sticky rice is not dessert at all as there’s not even a sweet taste in it I’m glad the waiter said they serve it with onion on top so I asked to remove the onion ( i don’t expect to eat dessert with onion ) the taro ice cream is good . They don’t have much selection of food compared to other eat all you can restaurant. The fried chicken is very bland looks like it hasn’t been marinated and was just deep fried straight from freezer . The stir fry noodles is ok but a bit sweet . The eggplant is soggy and too oily . Sorry but I have to give it a 2 star only because the place is nice and...
Read moreFresh and clean atmosphere, service a little rusty but you could tell they are still trying to find their feet after relaunching with new menu. Food was interesting lol if you are use to traditional viet food or bought up eating it, this is not the place for you unless you are 100% open to trying new things. The bo kho pasta was tasty but weird at the same time because its very different than traditional bo kho. The bun cha ha noi was delicious however I'm not used to the meat being in a soup type sauce, my only recommendation to the staff is make sure you serve this dish with a spoon for sauce. The biggest let down was the shaky beef, it looked amazing but it was over cooked & lacking that punch of flavor that you would get in the old tapas menu. My fav dish of the night was actually the dessert - fried coconut sorbet with mango cream. Amazing!!!! & the viet iced tea - i could drink it on the daily. All over a great experience, id recommend everyone try the Savoury ill definitely be back to try...
Read moreExcellent refined Vietnamese, high quality grazing menu.
The Savoury Dining is a refined Vietnamese restaurant. The two of us visited for a Sunday lunch, post covid lockdown. There is a choice of a-la-carte menu, or the set price grazing / tapas style menu. We opted for the tapas choice.
The main menu had 35 items and a further 5 deserts available. When we first ordered 3 plates the waitress suggested we increase it to five, so the dishes could flow out of the kitchen. It was an useful prompt.
We started with mocktails, a sweet and dry, and they were just as described in the menu. Mostly we ordered from the entre side of the menu, a tasting of about 12 items. All of which were fresh flavours, overall excellent. As there were only two of us, the serving plates were designed for two people. Larger tables received larger plate sizes.
Stand out dished included the betel leaf beef, crispy skinned chicken and the grilled pork vermicelli. We will be returning to try dishes we...
