A place that small batch roasts its own A-Grade beans... that's all I needed to hear. A top rated cafe in the city - I had to check it out. A gut feeling said their brew would be good so ordered some coffee ground too for home - and sure enough - was good stuff. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Will need to try their mie goreng toastie another time and also heard they have some dessert type things too. It's a cute spot hidden in an architectural feature - which is definitely worth a visit for any coffee aficionado or corporate type nearby. Note: I didn't rate the food as I didn't have any (can always amend another time). As for the atmosphere - there is construction going on nearby - so thought I'd withhold the rating (as that is something beyond their control). Having said that, I sat down and another coffee lover also sat down too nearby (with a pour-over no less - anyone who has a pour-over at a cafe clearly appreciates the blend of the place). Until next time ✨✨

Visitor from Melbourne 🙋🏻‍♀️ - had a really great time there. Super friendly staff, tasty beef rendang taco(which is a must try) at a quite reasonable price. And their cocktails are amazing🤩 I ordered More Citrus Please🍹 , and at the second visit, Jakarta on the Run - the second one I was after was not available because it was end of Vivid Sydney and they were running out of rum, but they offered to get that from liquor store if I could wait, or, they could make another special one for me. So I tried the special one 🍸 and it tasted terrific!! 😍😍Really worth that try!!!! And their beef rendang has a very special taste (sort of like pandan?) which is quite different from rendang I’ve ordered in any other place. I missed that taste. It has been weeks since then but I still feel like saying something about the visits. Thanks Josh again for the amazing cocktails 🍸 And thanks team for the food and great experience.I’ll recommend this place to everyone visiting Sydney.

Compact coffee shop in the new Salesforce tower courtyard. ☕ Great coffee in Circular Quay is hard to find, especially one open on weekends (Gah, such a Sydney problem!) So, this spot is great for tourists and locals alike. They use Lindt chocolate in their hot choccies and mochas. 🍫 Absolutely delish. Drink-in coffees served in beautiful mugs. Outdoor seating. No indoor seating. 💁‍♀️ Hot tip: you're right in the middle of some great hidden gems! Look coming down the stairs at the historical artifacts found while building. And check out Underwood Lane for what's hanging above! As for limitations, this isn't a sit down and relax Aussie cafe experience. Has delish food, but it's a bit on the quicker side. 🚻 In the courtyard complex, to the left coming down the stairs. 💳 Take credit cards, weekend and public holiday surcharge

Everything came together nicely for a great experience today. I visited specifically to try the famous toasties, and chose the Mushroom Truffle - it exceeded my expectations that were already high! I didn't plan to have coffee but was convinced by the "Free Flow" hour - free refills of the batch brew 13:00-14:00. It was an Indonesian bean, which was a pleasant change to the usual beans available in Sydney, and I ended up buying a bag to take home. The cup that the coffee was served in was cool, but I forgot to see if they were for sale.

To round everything off, the customer service was top notch. I was served by and spoke to Kelvin who was welcoming, talkative, and discussed the Indonesian beans with me. I think I spoke to the boss as well who was also friendly.

My only small criticisms would be:

  1. It'd be good to see the tables being cleared/wiped once customers have left - there were some pieces of food on my table from previous visitors.
  2. I found it slightly hard to hear the staff when ordering due to the music from the speaker on the front desk.

Overall I'd definitely recommend Dutch Smuggler to everyone - if I worked in the city I'd be a regular. I hope that you start opening on weekends; even just reduced hours on Saturdays would be awesome and give many more people a chance to visit who can't go during the...

came here three times, first time got the mushroom truffle toastie and right before i got it i saw the two male staff inside look at me and laugh then when i got the toastie there was only one sandwich (one half). not even a full sandwich, i only realised after walking away and was my first time purchasing so i thought it wa their normal portion. second time, friend told me to try the mi goreng one so i went to get toastie, kitchen was closed no problem got a regular coffee instead since i was already there and got their mini one (smallest size). i knew from the size of the cup but was in a hurry. today is the third time, i got the mi goreng one finally and i realise that i’m meant to have had two halves so one full sandwich so that meant the first time i was scammed. my coffee this time was regular not amazing but it’ll do. not sure if i’ll come again, but if i do it is just because i love toasties. mushroom toastie could do a bit of taste though, was a bit bland.

Update: offered me free toastie and coffee as well as a refund. Went back today to grab the mushroom toastie and it was great, stuffed with loads of mushroom. Staff apologised once again, don’t think such a mistake will happen again so should be allg! thanks...
