This is a bit of a tricky one to review because perspective is often shaped by your expectations and what you order. I had heard the charcoal chicken was good so I wanted to experience it and took my young son. Here is a detailed review that I hope will be helpful. Menu: the menu is limited, not always a bad thing of course but if you want some vegetarian side options, there is nothing. There were only two main salads on the menu, very large family size, one chicken and one falafel. Customer service: I asked if I could have some salad as a side with my chicken or in addition to chips and the server said they don’t do any side salads at all. I found this disappointing. The service apart from this was friendly and the meals came out very quickly, and fresh and hot. Food: My son ordered the OG cheese melt with mozzarella and halloumi. We enjoyed it, the bread was good but to be honest, we couldn’t really taste the halloumi but it was tasty nonetheless. I ordered the chicken wrap. It was not to my taste and I didn’t enjoy it at all. The chicken wasn’t marinated as such, it was more like plain cooked chicken with melted cheese with garlic sauce and pickles. Here’s why I didn’t like it. Admittedly I’m used to eating different types of wraps that have marinated chargrilled chicken and salad ingredients - lettuce, tomatoes and tabouli as well as hummus, chilli sauce and pickles. I didn’t like the El Jannah version because I realised I don’t like non-marinated chicken on a wrap and found the flavour pairing of cheese, garlic sauce, no salad ingredients and no chilli sauce and no hummus too plain. I realised I don’t like garlic sauce or at least not just with cheese, chicken and a few pickles. I think if it had another sauce to play with, as well as hummus and salad ingredients, it may have been different for me but as it was I just didn’t enjoy it at all, not my thing and didn’t finish it. We had chips too, very tasty and crispy with yummy chicken salt. I do think maybe in hindsight I should have ordered one of the charcoal chicken meals that comes with chips but I was assuming a wrap would have some salad ingredients so that’s why I ordered that. Anyway, I think that it’s really about expectations and what you like. I just personally would like a side salad if I ordered the charcoal chicken meals and I prefer a different style of wrap that has more sauces and salad ingredients in it. What they’re known for appears to be good and I’d go back if their menu expanded just a little bit. So really just my expectations and preferences here impacting the review here which nonetheless I hope is helpful for...

Be prepared to pay only cash or you cant order. Ordered 2 large chicken roll combos in store then when it came to payment they refused to take card claiming there eftpos isn’t working 11:30am in the morning. there were alot of customers waiting for there orders. i doubt they all paid cash. Dont waste your time here… Biggest lair’s. if there eftpos isnt working and really down they should tell customers before they accept orders in store.
They put you in a must pay in cash situation as they have taken your order and people are waiting in line to order.
When I told the server I don’t have cash as I really didn’t and would of been happy to pay cash if I did have cash on me the server went and asked his manager they want to pay with card and he responded cash only. I found it very interesting as the server felt uncomfortable and had to ask his manager for help to double check if he can accept card as I was in a stuck position because I don’t have cash to pay for my order! What a joke!!!
Most upsetting thing here and reason for my long review writing for everyone else to know is that i had to ask my elderly mother which was with me for cash right there and she didn’t have cash also on her. I was very embarrassed by the situation I was put in Infront of my mother & customers waiting instore all looking at me. I left the store very angry. El jannah should pray to god that i didnt trash there store and cause a huge scene. I went into the store happy and with good intentions to have a lovely nice lunch with my mother but it all turned sour very very quickly.
We live in 2022 and its a joke to see cash operating businesses accepting cash only when they feel like it. Its a massive inconvenience for customers and there families with them.
We all know they want to accept cash randomly to pay there workers cash and avoid paying taxes. The eftpos machine does work.
I will never ever again visit any el jannah restaurants or order from uber and will spread this message further.
Very very very...
Read moreI try hard to avoid giving negative reviews online for a small business but I have tried to resolve this directly with the company and they make it almost impossible to contact them.
We ordered from this restaurant on Sunday for an 11:55am pickup. We arrived on time and was told it would be 2-3 minutes longer. By 12:10pm we were told the order had been lost. It was Fathers Day, they were busy and the restaurant looked well understaffed, so I do feel for the staff that day as they were trying to do their best.
The server asked to see our phone to view the order. He disappeared for another 5 minutes putting our order together for us. He asked to check the list again and assured us everything was in the bag, so we took him at his word. However when we got home we discovered the order instructions were not followed and there was an item missing. Frustrating, especially when you make an effort to order ahead then end up waiting 20 minutes with 2 young kids in the car.
We didn't have time to drive back to the restaurant to get the missing item so I tried contacting El Jannah to at least get the missing item refunded. There is no phone number or email address to contact the restaurant or head office, so I used their online feedback form. The automated reply advised me to use their Live Chat to resolve this. I've now tried their live chat 3 times and have waited 20+ minutes each time before giving up. There is no option to 'stay in the queue' for them to call or follow up later. As I sit here typing this feedback waiting for a human agent to respond on the Live Chat, it's now ticked over 26 minutes and still waiting. All I'm after is a simple refund for a missing item without having to drive back to the restaurant during our busy week.
UPDATE: I was contacted directly by head office after leaving this review with an apology and resolution. I'm adding 2 stars back for this as I appreciated their attempt to fix the situation. I still hope the company takes the feedback on about the difficulties contacting them when...
