Golden Chicken Brookvale — Restaurant in Sydney

I don’t like to give negative reviews but I hope the new owner reads this.

I’ve been coming here for years and always get the hot Mona burger which never failed to satisfy !

My first visit this year was today and I will not be going back

I was shocked to see no customers when I arrived ( I should’ve taken the hint) and all new staff members which I have never seen before. I immediately thought there must be new owners and I was right.

The menu screens were switched off and the place seemed very dark. Also the tv on the back wall which used to play current music video clips has been switched off and replaced with Celine Dion singing her titanic song (another reason I should have left immediately)

I thought oh well I’ll give the benefit of the doubt and ordered my usual hot Mona burger .. it took twice as long as usual to arrive (they weren’t even busy)

Upon first bite it was not bad, although the chill sauce has been replaced with some kind of chill oil which tastes nothing like the previous sauce. I couldn’t finish the burger as the oil had turned it into mush..

The front staff were nice enough.

Obviously the last owner took their peri peri recepie with them !

The worst experience ever! Went there yesterday the young lady was in a grumpy mood. We ordered 2 soy chai latte she was going to make with normal milk, thank God I was watching her, then corrected her. She said rudely that I didn't ask for soy. I don't ever drink dairy. She gave me one soy in the end, we both said we ordered 2, then she argued with us and said no u ordered only one and was saying it's our fault because we were on our phone. She then told us to get lost and she didn't want to serve us. I was disgusted by her attitude. We will never go back there. Not sure who the owner is but they need to sack her before they loose more...

Great little shop for classic "South American style" burgers and other delicious chicken products. I used to come here frequently over 10 years ago. It's good to see it is as good as I remember. This time I purchased the Hot Mona combo. The chicken was cooked well and just the right amount. The chips were hot fresh and a good level of crunch, and there was a good amount (not too little and not too much. Under $20 these days for a lunch meal is a decent find, so was happy with the pricing. Definitely recommended for a quick lunch or take away for the...
