As a professional pie eater from Wigan, well known pie capital of the world, someone who is well experienced in coming across the worst and also the best pies on the planet, I have to say that for the first time in my life I am compelled to write a review.
After sampling a selection from The Brooky Pie, they absolutely qualify for the best pies in Australia.
What I couldn't believe was I stumbled across these flaky, perfect pastry (best pastry I have ever, ever had actually), tasty, full of flavour, meaty and excellent quality pies in of all places, Manly.
As soon as I entered this cute, little shop on my tradie break, I could tell instantly that this was a place that takes pride and has passion about their products. The staff were friendly and absolutely enjoyable to talk with.
If the rugby league club playing down the road in the cow paddock aka Brookvale Oval and has been known in the past for producing excellent players, coaches and results could capture the pride, passion and quality this little pearler of a pie shop has then they would be unbeatable just like The Brooky Pie.

Read moreThese are gourmet pies & priced accordingly. Deep, generously filled pies with a flaky top. I’m no fan of flaky pasty. While it looks great it adds little taste & makes a damn mess when attempting to eat. Due to the buttery pasty these pies also don’t make good pies to eat by hand (useless you like oily hands) so make sure to take a fork if planning to takeaway. Yes they do make coffee but to me it wasn’t the best coffee I’d ever had, lacked depth of flavour. Now if you’re still reading you probably gather this shop hasn’t won me, the pies & coffee just aren’t what I like so I won’t be back. I would like to add that the customer service & business presentation were first-class. I hope that other business operators drop by & check out how...

Falls apart before you can eat it. I had a chunky beef ($8?!?! 🤪🤪🤪) definitely had chucks of beef in it, very chewy, grissily chunks of cheap meat. The rest of the pie was just watery gravy with average at best taste, not sure if the Pastry was cooked properly or if the sloppy gravy had just made it soggy but either way also not great. Way too hot to buy and eat for a quick lunch, would need to wait 10 mins if not wanting to scolder your self.
Not sure if their “Best pies in Sydney” sign is a joke or not but it certainly isn’t factually correct. A servo pie would have left me less disappointed.
This pie both metaphorically and literally left a bad taste...
