I have been going to this restaurant since I was 5 or 6 years old and throughout the years, I have watched this place flourish with the same owners. The restaurant consistently produces great, generous plates of Chinese staples and specialties. We always order their steamed pomfret that gives a soft texture and flavourful bite with its strong garnishes of chives and ginger. Another favourite is the Japanese tofu that is lightly fried but reveals a rich, mouth-watering centre accompanied with a lot of healthy vegetables. Following the recent renovation of Hurstville RSL, the restaurant has also upgraded with it. The original homely bistro was revamped into a modern restaurant. But don't be mistaken, it still maintains a high level of quality and hospitality as it delivered back in the past. The setting has brightened and is more spacious to cater for its large customer base, the walls reflecting scenes of Hong Kong with a window into the hardworking kitchen. Every time we come by, we greet the same waitresses and owners who amicably serve and make us feel at home. Like a seed, we sowed regular visits to this restaurant and reaped numerous fulfilling, wonderful dinners over time. Its reliability and close-knit relationships with its customers is something you should never miss out on. It even keeps feeding you after you leave with the piles of leftovers because the portions are...
Read moreI have come here many times for Yum Cha, lunch, dinner and takeaway. It is such a good restaurant with cheap prices (even more so if you are a member!). On the lunch menu, some favourites include Sweet & Sour Pork, Chicken/Beef Chow Mein/Flat Rice Noodle, Dry Stir-Fry Beef/Chicken Flat Rice Noodle, Pickle & Mushroom with Vermicelli and Scrambled egg beef with flat rice noodles. Scrambled egg beef with flat rice noodles is probably my favourite, you need to give this one a try! Honestly, you cannot go wrong with any of the noodle dishes from the lunch menu. Dinner menu also has so many good options. King Prawn with vermicelli, Pipis with XO sauce, Seasonal Vegetables, Shan Dong Chicken, Pork Chops in honey pepper sauce, Special mixed vegetables with tofu, and Steamed egg with seafood combination. The Shan Dong Chicken is probably my favourite. It is one of a kind, I have never gone to another restaurant which does this dish just as well. Definitely...
Read moreExtremely disappointed for 3 key reasons. Very rude server while we are waiting in the queue for our takeaway. We are not expecting top notch service for the price that we are paying, but it made us felt like we are at fault by giving them business. Misleading menu - we ordered a "deep fried beef veal", but what we received was a "boiled sprout with steam chicken", when we question about the dish, the reply was "that's how was made the dish, we can remake it, but it may be another 40 mins because we are busy" Cleanliness issue - from general observation the place cleanliness is below par. Thankfully we did not dine-in, at least I can ensure my dinning ware is clean.
In conclusion, if you are after a bargin, this place may be for you, but don't come here if you are after a good...
