Goldie’s is the new gal in Dulwich Hill. You’ll find her relaxed, peachy complexion down the bottom of the suburb’s main shopping strip. Don’t look for exterior signage, Goldie’s is yet to be crowned, but everything else is slick and fully operational. With the friendly floor team rocking branded t-shirts and aprons, and house-made products already lining the walls, Goldie’s seems confident you’ll want her to stick around. After sampling the cafe’s first ever special—crispy sweet chilli chicken and pancakes ($24)—I’m inclined to agree. Rather than a sugar-fest, the sticky-sweet red sauce oozing over crisp fillets of fried chook and fluffy golden pancakes with pats of butter had more heat and ginger-nuance than I was expecting. If it’s still on, it’s a worthy cheat-day treat.

From the regular menu, a trio of pork’n’pineapple tacos ($22) teamed slow-cooked pulled pork with pico de gallo, salsa verde and ‘slaw. Staff supplied their branded chilli oil supplied on request, and the tacos did benefit from the moderately spicy lift. Coffee Supreme’s Five Star blend scrubbed up well in a cappuccino ($4.50) served at precisely the right temperature with a hint of liquorice cutting through. The green smoothie ($11) here is so easy-to-drink it belies being healthy, teaming avocado, spinach, banana and coconut water into a long cold drink that matches the venue’s contrasting frosty green.

With double frontage onto Marrickville Road, this spacious newcomer even has room for prams. Don’t forget to check out the baking on display in the glass front counter. The salt-crusted big chocolate chip cookie ($6.50) I took home was pretty sweet. Get in before Goldie’s is the name on...

The environment here is fairly plain, so I'd rate it a 3/5. The place was buzzing with people, but it leaned more towards chaotic than lively, which might not suit everyone’s taste. Overall, the food quality was decent, though portions were on the small side, especially for the price, something to keep in mind if you’re expecting larger servings.

The fries were a highlight, crispy and well seasoned, making them a solid 4/5. The hash brown special was alright, nothing exceptional, but satisfying enough for a 4/5. The fish tacos, though, were a disappointment. The flavour combinations felt odd and didn’t really work together, which left me wondering about the choice of ingredients; they were barely a 1/5.

The kid’s French toast was dry, and there was an issue with the menu description. It was listed with strawberries and maple syrup but arrived with both strawberries and blueberries, which was a problem as my child can’t eat blueberries. Allergy awareness and accurate menu descriptions are essential, so this was a big letdown, scoring a 1/5.

Drinks were enjoyable, with the chai latte and iced long black both on par, not exceptional but well made, each earning a 4/5.

All in all, this is a casual spot with some decent options, but the chaotic atmosphere, high prices for small portions, and a lack of attention to allergy details were disappointing. It’s a passable choice, but there’s definitely room for...

Visited Goldie’s on a busy Saturday morning without a reservation - tables were booked out but the staff made sure we were seated and took out coffee order whilst we waited. Our server Nicole was friendly and was informative about our questions. The coffees were excellent - coffee supreme brand executed perfectly, my long black was clean, full of flavour and light on the palate. The cold brew Monte Blanc with orange foam was a flavour explosion and the strawberry matcha latte lived up to the hype

The FOOD!!!! We took Chef Sarah’s suggestion and ordered the XO scrambled eggs on Roti - these were the best eggs I’ve had in years, you know you’ve found a great place when they can deliver on perfectly cooked eggs - the house made XO sauce was an umami flavour bomb adding richness and depth to the dish The Miso Mushrooms with poached egg is a dish not to be missed - the combination of miso with the mushroom plays on the old breakfast favourite and brings the dish into a new space. The poached eggs were jammy - just the way I like it. I had seen on their socials hype about their hash brown so had to order - my god! The texture crispy, light and fluffy and the sauces chilli mayo and Salsa verde I would have never chosen myself but worked perfectly to give the cut through spice to complement the delicious hash y-goodness.

Saw this place on Instagram and immediately headed there. Menu is on point with anything from fluffy pancakes through to crispy fish. Had the halloumi + egg roll, and it didn't disappoint. Brioche bun pillowy soft so don't expect to come out of it without egg going everywhere and your bun not able to structurally support all the deliciousness. Have it with an extra hashbrown and you won't be mad. Seasoned well and crispy as. Missis had chill scrambled eggs on toast and they were buttery soft and perfection. The salsa verde and house pickles topped it off well, and I'll have both of those on anything I order in the future as they were like culinary crack. Noice. The coffee was ok, deffo not the highlight of the meal to be honest. I had a double ristretto and it was ok. I'll try an oatmilk latte next time and probably be happier. Parking is simple in the large carpark nearby, and the decor is bright with tables and chairs outside - although ours was proper wobbly, so check before you wear your coffee. Deffo be back, it's our new replacement for the total disappointment that Hub Diner has become. Staff here are friendly and recommend rather than give snark, and the Owner seems proper nice too. A decent addition to Inner West cafe scene, and can't wait to try more on their menu.
