We went to ground zero for brunch 2/1/22 and sat at table 31. First time I have ever reviewed something but this was too ridiculous to not. We ordered the chocolate waffles and a veggie burger with 2 drinks. My partner was half way through her waffles when she pulled a piece of hard plastic from her mouth! (Thank gosh she didn’t choke). We flagged down the waiter and we told her what happened and that there was plastic in our food. She then said “are you sure that’s plastic” rest assured it was a hard piece of plastic! She then removed the plate without another word. After 15 mins had passed we decided we wanted to move on with our day so we went to leave. As we hadn’t yet had anyone acknowledge the fact there was a choking hazard in our food we approached the only staff that we could interact with. It seems like no one knew what was going on and we got asked to move to another section as they passed the buck. We then moved to the cashier who again had no idea what has just happened. After explaining what he happened he made us feel guilty we were bringing this up.

As mentioned I’ve never left a review like this before and I want the management team at ground zero to re look at more training for your floor staff and possibly make it known there’s someone that could take accountability and ownership of a situation like this.

Utterly disappointing customer service as we are still left scratching our heads at what has...

Very poor service today. We ordered 2 bacon and egg rolls and after waiting what must have been close to half an hour, the staff member called our number and proceeded to walk straight straight past us and gave our food to a man who didnt even get out of his seat despite us walking up to her with our ticket. The man opened up our food and took a bite of one of the rolls before alerting the staff member that he had the wrong food to which they then proceeded to have a conversation over our food while it was open. When we approached her and told us we are number 89 not him, she said i know and offered the food that had been with man for over 5 min. When i understandably said no we need a new one as it had been sitting with someone else for more than 5 min open she made it out that somehow we were inconveniencing her and told me it was going to take much longer for them to make a new one. I had my baby with me and told her how we had already waited so long and could she ask the kitchen to urgently make ours as this is not our fault. strangely enough the food came less than 2 min later. Not sure if she just gave us the food that was with the man or actually made us a new one (it was certainly not hot) but i wont be returning thats for sure. Didn't even get an apology. let alone offering food which has been with another customer whilst we are recording over 3000...

Rude staff and management, I wouldn’t advice going there if you expect a respectful treatment. I came in to ask for a juice with ginger extract, lime and honey mixed with water (you put the ginger in the juicer, get a little extract to then mix in the water, cut a lime in half and squeeze it into the water with honey, shake it and that’s it). Even though they had ginger in other juices they said they wouldn’t do it because the manager wouldn’t allow it.

When I wrote the manager to say how as a loyal customer I was disappointed, his response was nothing but offensive saying that his loyal customers knew that the ginger price had risen so that it would have cost them too much money to make it. I was never given a price or solution, the answer was a flat no while trying to humiliate me.

Disgusting behaviour, never going there again and I’ll let everyone know the horrid person we had been giving our money to. I rather support local friendly owners like so many...

Groundzero cafe lived up to its name by giving us a 0/10 experience. Ordering 3 dishes for me and my partner we had to sit there and wait nearly an hour for the food to be brought to us along side other customers who had also been waiting just as long if not longer and had still not received their orders. Waiters were friendly and somewhat attentive so the problem obviously lies within the management would not recommend visiting this cafe unless you’re okay with waiting for over an hour to receive your food especially considering you’ll be spending $100+ on your food.

Had brunch here this morning and tried the Tuscan eggs with halloumi and it was super tasty. They coffee was well made and not to bitter. I used to come to Ground Zero years ago when it was one of the only decent cafes in Manly but haven't been in for a sit down for at least 5 years. The setup is still the same and is looking tired but being a central location and with a good outdoor seating area it's always super busy. They have a large selection of fresh tasty juices and smoothies on offer as well.

If you’re looking for the best açai/ smoothies in the area, this is the one! They also have a huge variety of breakfast and lunch options, but I always stick to the açai because it’s so good❀ The staff is extremely nice and the owner is the sweetest! He owns this restaurant for about 20 years and treats my family and I with hospitality every time we arrive. I would really recommend this place!
