High N' Dry — Restaurant in Sydney

My partner and I were looking for a quick bite to eat after coming back home in the area following a night time event. Despite the fact the store was about to close up shop, we were advised (by who we suspect was the owner) that we could still order and eat whilst they were preparing to close up shop in a piecemeal fashion. Needless to say, we were very grateful for such hospitality and flexibility!

Given how close it was to closing time we decided to order a fairly small order to chow down and finish up - double patty burger (+$8 for a combo with choice of drink and fries) plus a single patty burger. There are also some weekly specials to choose from and it appears they do change from time to time. Please also see attached photos for reference.

The food came out in a very timely fashion and both my partner and I were extremely happy with the portion sizing and taste of the burger and chips.

The decor of the restaurant is really awesome too with some arcade machines standing next to the entrance such as Street Fighter, Pac Man and even The Simpsons! You'll need some gold coins to play but it's a really cool thing to have. Besides that the shop is well maintained, clean and had a nice overall feel.

There is no hesitation to give High N' Dry a 5 star review and we'll definitely be back in the future when we feel like burgers again. Would definitely love to try their Mac N Cheese next time and other menu items.

Not suitable for new customers. Takes a lot of learning to eat at this place. Where to begin. Scanned the QR code on the table to order (that normally means they know you are on a table right?) Chose "Pick up" option on their web ordering app. At the end of checkout, added a Platform surcharge, so went to the counter to ask, immediately replied their EFTPOS would also add a surcharge, "always a surcharge these days". Placed the order on their webpage. Asked them if they will bring it or they will call out for us to collect, was assured they will bring it. Waited 25 mins, went to ask how much longer, then the same guy asks "did you order take away?", then hands me a bag that has been sitting there for a while. He added "you ordered take away" (At no time their web app said take away) one of the burgers ordered was their blackboard special, which mentioned Fries, so did not see any fries in the bag, went to ask, and was told they added some in the burger (so much for the special $19 vs $16something for their standard wagyu burger). Wait there is more. The special burger was quite salty, so went to get some water, got 2 cups and bottle of tap water. One of the cups was dirty, had silt from whatever was...

High and dry

We enjoyed this newbie “high & dry” to the area recently. Didn’t even realise it was there until the neon lights grabbed my hungry Friday night eyes. Made a quick lap around the block to come back to give it a go.

We ordered the single beef burger, dusted chicken wings with blue cheese sauce, cheese burger spring rolls and tiger fries.

While I waited for the order there’s some cool arcade games and other 80s memorabilia to check out. Will happily eat in next time - took this lot home.

The single burger was basically a classic cheese burger. Very tasty. !! Would order again. Dusted wings were crispy and tasty. Blue cheese a perfect match. Couldn’t pass on the cheeseburger spring rolls. They didnt disappoint. Wouldn’t have all the time, but definitely something different and a winner on this occasion. Tiger fries were good. The right spice and cooked well.

I was told the owner is a young guy giving it a crack. Best of luck. ! I’ll return because the food is good and atmosphere is something different.
