On Friday Night I had booked an event for 17 people for the 2 course set menu $60 per person for my Sisters Hens Dinner. After emailing the event co-ordinator, we had arranged that we set up the table at 6:45pm for a 7pm start. When we arrived and said we need to set up the table we got judged and worried faces. The only decorations were fake rose petals along the table in the centre, cookies along with them, tiny disco balls in the centre of the table and a disco ball swirly straw for the glasses. Nothing massive and nothing that would take long to pack up. As people started arriving, I noticed that the set menus were not put on the table. I had asked the staff about getting the set menus put on the table at 7:10pm, that staff member told me that they don't have a set menu, when i responded that they do as I spoke via email to the events co-ordinator about it. She then angrily said "then show me on our website then" so I had to show her via your own website the set menu that was pre-booked. Once i showed her proof she then apparently had to speak to her manager about it. The menus were then placed on the tables roughly 7:20pm. While this was happening, no one was able to order drinks as no one was there to service us, we didn't have the QR Code like every other table and we had to go to the bar to order. For food, I had to get up to get a staff member to take our food order roughly 7:45pm. Starters came out at roughly 8pm and were amazing. I heard nothing but praise about the starters which was amazing to hear. However mains came out at 8:30pm ish and was not as good. I ordered the steak, and i could only have 2 bites before I couldn't eat anymore. Another guest was never told that there would be a paste over the steak and then couldn't eat it. The Chicken Burger, a guest told me was bland. apart from that while everyones food came out 2 guests were missing food which was both steaks. one of them got their steak 10 minutes after everyone and one was still missing we had to talk to staff as everyone else was pretty much finished their food at this point. Service was clearly lacking and to put on top of that, we were told we had to leave by 9pm even when our food was given so late.
We booked Hurricanes for this dinner because we are regular customers to the Cronulla location as well as Brighton location. We were very disappointed by our experience this time and will not be...
Read moreI recently dined at Hurricanes Grill Circular Quay, and my experience was a delightful mix of flavors and ambiance. The restaurant, located in the heart of Circular Quay, offers a culinary journey that is sure to satisfy any food enthusiast.
While my dining experience was mostly exceptional, I must mention a minor hiccup. The bruschetta, although delicious in flavor, was a bit challenging to cut. However, this small drawback was quickly overshadowed by the culinary marvel that followed.
The octopus dish at Hurricanes Grill Circular Quay was nothing short of amazing. The tender, perfectly cooked octopus was a testament to the chef's expertise. Each bite was a burst of flavors, leaving me craving for more. The dish was not only visually appealing but also a true testament to the restaurant's commitment to high-quality ingredients and culinary excellence.
Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Hurricanes Grill Circular Quay was inviting and lively. The restaurant exudes a warm and vibrant energy, making it a perfect spot for gatherings with friends and family. The attentive staff added to the overall positive experience, ensuring that every need was met with a smile.
In conclusion, despite a minor challenge with the bruschetta, my dining experience at Hurricanes Grill Circular Quay was exceptional. The outstanding octopus dish, combined with the restaurant's lively ambiance and attentive service, makes it a must-visit culinary destination. If you're looking for a place that offers both delectable cuisine and a vibrant atmosphere, Hurricanes Grill Circular Quay is the perfect choice. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience in...
Read morePlease note this place is not recommended for it's Vegetarian Food as the menu is predominantly meat dishes. But I had meat every day this week and because it was someone else's birthday party it's not like I had much choice but to order something Vegetarian. So the Veggie Stack Burger was ordered along with a Mocktail Drink, Tropical Jolly. The burger comes with a side of chips. The burger had no flavour, nor did the chips, disappointing for the price I paid for it. The burger was stacked with the amount of veggies you'd think there'd be some flavour but the only thing I could taste was the Haloumi. The eggplant was really oily had a pool of oil on my plate from it. The mocktail drink was decent, sugary but atleast it was better than the Burger and Chips, it had flavour.
Staff were nice but busy and took a while before someone was free to come over for service. We were told in advance anyway but we had to eat and leave the table within 2 hours because they book a lot of tables out for the next sitting, so beware if you want to spend more time here talking and catching up with your friends, probably not the best place as they kick you out for the next table.
Also from comments made from other friends on the table was they didn't like their salads (just a packet of rocket) and also not tasty. I didn't ask the non vegetarian people but they seemed to have liked their meal as their plates were empty and no one was really complaining except for the people who ordered vegetarian. For my experience I give it a low score but I'd say if you're interested in trying it definitely try the meat dishes and avoid the Vegetarian dishes, probably...
