Located in Club Central Hurstville, Level 3/2 Crofts Avenue, Hurstville, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. I have found the service in this restaurant to be similar to other Chinese restaurants where I am the minority. The staff does not seem to care if I am there or not and I feel like I am being ignored when I try to get a server’s attention. Also the staff when I did manage to get their attention, were quite short and rude. For the price you are paying (which is A LOT - even with the club membership discount), you expect excellent service. Also, I think there wasn’t enough staff to cope with the number of customers in the restaurant which again I find odd, considering the prices you pay. You’d think they could afford the staff. This took away from the pleasure of eating at this restaurant. I love Chinese restaurants but I felt like they couldn’t care less if I was here or not. I was there during the Yum Cha sitting but decided to get my food from the main menu. Also got something from the Yum Cha options. The food was very tasty and fresh even if it was pretty expensive . This is a Thumbs down from me, I would give it one, if not for the food being delicious, but the service just impacted so negatively on the whole experience. Thumbs...
Read moreWe went for dinner last weekend as we were craving for some Chinese food..google suggested so we did. We were a family of 4 (a couple and 2 kids 2&5yo). Me and my husband weren’t that hungry and our kids are not big eaters so we just ordered 3 dishes. 1 main, 1 dimsim, 1 wonton soup. As we were done putting our orders in, the gentleman said to order one more dish!I was taken aback by the manner of how it has been said but besides that I was thinking maybe the portions were not that big for both of us and so I did order another one!But when the dishes came the 3 items could have been enough for all of us as we ended up taking out more than half of what we ordered.
The issue here, first of all, is that this was the first time we were ever asked to order one more dish in a restaurant moreso in a very rude manner. Secondly, he should have explained properly how the portion size was and “suggesting” to order one more dish instead of “imposing” it.
Overall, food was great but service needs to improve a lot!People were all very uptight and not warm and welcoming. I would probably be considerate if the restaurant was packed but there were less than 10 tables filled at that moment.

Read moreSummary first: This restaurant is extremely poor value for money — I strongly do NOT recommend it! The environment is average, nothing special — it’s neither refined nor cheap. Three of us spent over $150, around $50 per person, and we left still hungry. Portion sizes were small, and the food quality was shockingly bad for the price. Honestly, the dishes weren’t even as good as what an average home cook could make. The flavours were bland and lifeless, the stir-fries had no wok hei at all, and forget about any depth or complexity in taste.
The chef’s skills are so basic that even a dai pai dong (street food stall) in Hong Kong probably wouldn’t hire him. On top of that, the service was terrible — every waiter looked like they were forced to be there, carrying a sense of deep resentment. They lacked even the most basic service standards.
My advice: the entire team should go downstairs to the Western restaurant and learn how to cook and...
