In the middle of my lunch at Kaito in Castle Towers, liquid that had condensed from the pipes in the ceiling of the restaurant dripped into my food. As I looked up, I noticed that the waitress standing in the corner of the restaurant saw the liquid drip on my plate. I observed her see me look up and she looked up as well to the ceiling and source of the liquid. Instead of coming over and offering assistance, she waited until I called her over and tell her that liquid from the ceiling had dripped into my food. She then proceeded to tell me to sit on another side of the table (this table had 2 chairs and a bench next to it). I told her that I was willing to move, but the liquid would still be dripping on to the table regardless of where I was sitting. I asked for my food to be replaced, she looked confused as if I should continue to eat the food that had been dripped on by unknown liquid. She then went to another staff member who came over and offered to help us move to another table and replied that they would be able to fulfil my request to replace the food with the unknown liquid on it. After we moved, they cleared our old table and RESET IT with cutlery and napkins for another unsuspecting customer to sit at. There was no signage put up, no moving the table to another location, no bucket to catch the dripping liquid to prevent a slip and fall. They did not offer to comp my meal, give a discount, nor did they offer to replace the food or move us until AFTER it was requested. I politely paid FULL PRICE for my meal. It's really put me off eating...
Read moreHaving lived in Japan for a full year, and Japanese cuisine being one of my favorite if not THE favorite one, I'm always happy when I see a Japanese restaurant I first noticed their sushi conveyer belt, which has lots of options, was great indeed But actually there was a whole separate menu, with lots of Japanese classics, baked pork gyosa, takoyaki, tempura, sahismi/sushi plate, teriyaki chicken, udon, hot pot... And lots of drinks too including alcoholic ones, such as Asahi beer, sake... Menus are clear with lots of pictures... And indeed with the sushi conveyer belt you can even directly pick up what you see I personally had: sashimi plate (which included salmon, tuna, kimgfish, shrimp and even scallop) sakamushi (sake steamed soup with clams and mussels) blue thin tuna sushi seaweed gun kan takoyaki oven baked pork gyoza orange juice hot green tea Staff was responsive The place gets quite full, it even got full at some point I was there, but it's possible to sit outside, or also to make a reservation for table seats Music is nice And food is excellent Highly...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible experience at Kaito Castle Hill! My family and I visited Kaito Castle Hill for dinner, and we were completely blown away. We ordered the Japanese soy-based Wagyu hot pot, and it was honestly one of the best meals we’ve ever had. The broth was rich, savoury, and full of deep umami flavour you could tell it was made with care. The Wagyu beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, pairing perfectly with the soy broth and fresh vegetables. The setup was fun and interactive, with the food train and hot pot experience giving us the best of both worlds it felt like a cozy night out and a bit of an adventure. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The restaurant itself has a warm and modern atmosphere, with soft lighting and that lively Japanese izakaya vibe. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. If you love Japanese food especially hot pot Kaito Castle Hill...
