I’m absolutely obsessed with the food here – truly one of the best Korean spots I’ve tried. The donkatsu, soups, and so many other dishes are just incredible. I’d love to leave a sweet note of encouragement because I really want this place to thrive and stay around for a long, long time.

A few gentle suggestions that might help: Lighting – A darker, cozier atmosphere could really elevate the dining experience. At the moment, the slightly empty mood of the shop can make people second-guess the quality of the food, which is such a shame given how amazing it is. Ordering system – The front machine might make some people leave too quickly. Having guests sit down with a paper menu encourages them to explore your full range of dishes, which could make them stay longer and try more. Pricing – The price feels fair considering the taste and portion sizes. But since there are many students living nearby, perhaps a small student discount could make it easier for them to come more often while still appreciating the value of your food.

Thank...

A great addition to the Central Park precinct! ✨ I’ve always wished for a good Korean restaurant in the CBD since I usually had to travel to Lidcombe, Eastwood, or Epping for authentic Korean food.

At first, I was skeptical about Kkini’s extensive menu, especially their gukbaps. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how authentic they were! I loved the addition of jungguji (spiced chives), a classic touch you’d typically find at gukbap spots in Busan. Plus, they serve the soondae (blood sausage) separately, which is a big win for me! Soondae in soup tends to break apart quickly as the glass noodles absorb the broth.

I’ve also heard great things about their jjajangmyeon, so I’m definitely coming back to explore more...

Average at best for Korean food and can definitely find better Korean food elsewhere. It’s a shame because the place is super cute and think the place could a hit if the food tasted better. Been here a few times only because I live around the area. Hate to say this but the food looks better than it tastes - you also don’t get a good spread of side dishes either unless you order a substantive meal (like the bossam/jokbal set as seen in the photo). The bossam/jokbal set and noodles were just OK (not great, not terrible). My friend ordered the kimchi jjigae (didn’t take a photo) which was not good - it was watered down, had one piece of meat...

Cravings for raw marinated crabs easily satisfied if you’re staying in haymarket. Tonkatsu was huge as well and so worth it for the pricepoint. You get a free drink if u do a google review as well but the food was good enough to warrant a review from me without the drinks. Sundubu tasted alright, had better ones but the tonkatsu and crabs are really the highlights. Side dishes was good too and staffs are all friendly, really reminds me of pochas in korea.
