had breakfast here near the end of 2019 with my partner, and it was a bit of an upsetting experience. we had the waffle dessert and a latte.
the place looks nice, is sorta comfy and has plenty of seats and room for the occasional customer. the service however, was not up to par. when we had ordered, the staff on the register looked annoyed and unhappy even though we had only been there for half a minute. we ignored it and hoped it was nothing personal, but our experience would say otherwise.
the dessert was disappointing, and nothing incredible compared to other cafes or small dessert bars. it seemed like it was made in a very rushed manner, taking from its appearance. the waffle was alright, although, the waffle is always good no matter where you get it from. the presentation of the meal was pretty awful though. the sliced bananas were just all over the plate, the strawberries were practically non existent, and the chocolate sauce looks like it was drenched over it to cover up a mess. the amount of fruit they used in this would probably owe up to a dollar honestly, because it was a ridiculously little amount considering the price it comes with. the chocolate sauce was also of poor quality, and it is nothing compared to what is served anywhere else. its like they just bought the $1.50 ice cream sauces at the woolworths or something and went along with it. im surprised nobody else had said anything because this is not the quality we expected. the ice cream was also extremely frozen, like it had been sitting in the freezer for months.
the coffee was nothing special unfortunately. it was especially bizzarre that the dessert had come before the coffee, since we could see the barista serving and makign coffees for literally everyone else before us. i had informed one of the staff about it since we were here before anybody else was, and they had simply nodded and went about their way. by the time we finished the meal, the coffee arrives, and to rub salt in the wound, it was awful because it was burnt.
theres probably an incredibly low chance that we would return, and it was unfortunate that our first impressions of this cafe...
Read moreKozzy Beans is a great little café with a cozy atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to relax or get some work done. The booth seating was particularly comfortable, offering a quiet and productive space, which I really appreciated. The coffee itself was excellent—rich, smooth, and well-made.
However, one small but noticeable thing stood out to me. This was the first café I’ve been to where sugar wasn’t added to my coffee upon request, and instead, I had to do it myself at the table. While this isn’t a major issue, it did feel like a small lapse in customer service, especially since every other café I’ve been to has done this without hesitation. It’s a minor detail, but those little touches can make a difference in the overall experience.
That aside, the service was still friendly, and the ambiance was lovely. If you’re looking for a café where you can sit comfortably and get some work done while enjoying a good cup of coffee, this place is definitely worth a visit. With just a bit more attention to the small details of service, it could easily become a...
Read moreUnreasonable money grabbing. I ordered a veggie wrap and asked if I can replace the mushroom for avocado, the nice girl asked ‘the manager’ if they didn’t have to charge, to which she was told to charge me the extra for avocado. So an extra $3.50, Even though in the sides menu avocado is 3.50 and mushroom is 4.50. I asked politely if this is slightly unfair as the wrap is made fresh but they said no they’d have to charge. So the veggie wrap was then $17. I’m all for business to try and keep to their costs but I think this Is unreasonable and clearly not caring...
