This place has gone downhill lately. I know that the hospitality industry has suffered greatly during this Covid crisis but that is not an excuse for your standards slipping. We had the Crushed Avocado Delight which is on the breakfast menu. It is supposed to come with whipped feta. Now the reason feta and butter gets whipped and cream is aeriated in the hospitality industry is that this makes it go further. Basically you want to serve as much air as you can. The whipped feta on the breakfast was almost non-existent, 2 tiny little servings of it with the avo which may have made up to be about 1 teaspoon in serving size. The tomato used was very 2nd rate and seemed to have been bought because it was in the cheap bin, you know when ingredients like tomato are of poor quality by the texture and taste and these were a bit on the mushy side. This was served as the tomato salsa. It was no more tomato salsa than weetbix is. There was also supposed to be green balsamic on the dish - this was non-existent. The serving size has definitely altered down and at 17 dollars for this it was, quite frankly, a rip off. Now we get to the tea. We ordered Earl Grey. The menu says they use Organic Loose Leaf Tea. Mmmmm, there were no leaves and it has a stewed taste. It is possible to buy a tea concentrate to make tea from; these concentrate are a bit like syrups and are usually used in places like hospitals. I suspect they may be using something similar. I would not longer recommend this place. I would recommend that you spend your...

Read moreThe manager/owner here is the perfect example of how not to run a café. She’s rude, dismissive, and completely money-hungry. Customer service clearly isn’t in her vocabulary. Instead of making people feel welcome, she makes you feel like you’re an inconvenience. The previous owners and other Lead Cafe venues are amazing. This one with the management, leadership and direction of this lady makes Macarthur Square Leaf Cafe a place NOT to go!
My partner and I used to be regulars and would often bring our two little dogs. Not anymore. After being spoken to like we didn’t matter, it became obvious she cares only about squeezing every dollar and not at all about her customers. Her arrogance and lack of basic respect have completely ruined our experience what could have been a good spot. I have told the manager that we will NOT be coming back.
If you value being treated with courtesy, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. There are countless cafés with friendlier staff, better service, and owners who actually understand hospitality. This one isn’t worth your...
