Osso Campbelltown — Restaurant in Sydney

Attended a friend’s birthday here. I’ve always wanted to try this restaurant. I was highly disappointed with the attitude of a few of the staff and the service in this restaurant. One staff was rude, just took away plates with food still sitting on the plate without asking whether we were done with it. It just surprised us. Then some waiters would come to our table to change the empty bottle of water and would just reach in front of you whilst talking to say they were changing the bottle. I thought this was rude and unhygienic! Please do not talk whilst reaching for the bottle, I hate to think of the droplets that went in my food whilst he was reaching over without excusing himself. I lost my appetite. Also, some waiters don’t seem to look happy to be there. Can’t blame you guys, seems like a toxic trying hard environment. The meals were pre-ordered for the group and I got the steak and the others got the salmon. The steak was okay, too rare for my liking, nothing spectacular, didn’t finish it. I actually think the Outback restaurant steak was better. Food presentation was ok. The pizza entree was very good, to be fair. At the beginning, I asked if my children can have a separate table and the waiter said they don’t have tables available when we can clearly see not a lot of people there (maybe about 2-3 other tables occupied with 2 people each) and a lot of tables empty. There were more staff than diners if not for our group. He said all the tables were reserved. He pointed to me a tiny round table with 2 seats and said he can put my children there with me. I just took my children to another restaurant outside of that place, I am not spending another cent in there. I was wishing I could take my deposit back and just spend it somewhere else. They gave me the impression they want to be regarded as an elite restaurant. Well guess what, if you don’t have enough customers, you’re going to close down. We were there from 6pm to 9pm and no one came for those reserved tables and booths. No, I don’t recommend this place. I think it’s overpriced and not family oriented based on my experience. We came here for my dad’s birthday and we highly recommend this restaurant to all families. The restaurant is beautifully designed and it is such a great place to do big gathering or birthdays with friends or families! Emma was serving us last night and her service was impeccable and faultless. She was amazing and patient with us and was very helpful with some recommendations.

We ordered the Butcher’s sharing board with some sides with it and the meat on there were surprisingly tender especially the steak since we ordered it to be well done. We were surprised how tender it is because most places when their steaks are well done, they are dry and rubbery! We ordered the scallops for entrees and a bowl of pasta as extras but it was too much where we had to ask for a take away box for our untouched pasta. The sharing board is more than enough for 4 people with some sides. The food came out very fast and we didn’t have to wait for long which was surprising! Towards the end, we ordered their salted creme burlee and we high recommend it! It was super delicious! We requested for a birthday message on the dessert plate and Emma was amazing about it and brought out the dessert with a message and a candle for us to sing happy birthday to our dad!

We tried going to the restaurant once before but unfortunately it was booked out however today we were able to get in and my family and I had one of the greatest restaurant experiences. The waiters and waitresses were absolutely friendly and positive and even made us laugh. They went out of their way to ensure our food was great and we were comfortable and we deeply appreciated it especially our main waitress Hannah who was an absolute delight to talk to and be around. The restaurant itself is a great environment, clean and enough space to cater for us all. As for the food it was absolutely delicious and we were so happy seeing how big the portions were and how they tasted, well seasoned, well cooked and definitely filling as we'd hoped.

A key point in our dining experience was when I asked if the restaurant had Raspberry fanta but they didn't which wasn't that big a deal however our Waitress Hannah suggested that they do have Raspberry syrup and could make me a Raspberry soda. It was honestly an awesome example of staff going above and beyomd for their customers and so i accepted. It could have used abit more of the syrup in it but regardless it was still fine.

Overall the staff was incredible, the restaurant was a great environment and food was beautiful and delicious. We enjoyed ourselves so much and even though the restaurant is abit costly, for the experience we had, I'd say it's worth it. Defenitely...
