The Coffee Club Cafe - Macarthur Square — Restaurant in Sydney

2 stars for the coffee arriving quickly however it was at 830am in the morning, so it should have been. We had a group of people for a birthday breakfast, all sitting at tge same table but ordering seperately. Firstly, one of our group ordered a burger and asked for 'no sauce', burger arrived with a lot of sauce and we sent it back only to be approached a couple of minutes later and told the mustard and mayo were left off and the charasco sauce was the only one on the burger so it didn't nees to be remade....we reitterated the order was for no sauce at all, she begrudgingly took it back to be remade. Secondly, we asked for two babyccinos, what arrived was hot milk in espresso takeaway cups without lids, the two toddlers couldn't drink them. Thirdly, an order was made for 1 waffles and 1 pancakes with side of bacon....what arrived was two plates of waffles and a side of bacon, when we questioned the waitress she took 1 plate of waffles back and again we were approached by the manager who told us that this is what was ordered and no pancakes. Well when 3 of our party actually heard the order get placed, this was offensive to be told that we (the customer) were wrong when we knew that clearly the order had been taken down wrong, again she begrudgingly took the plate back and we waited for the pancakes to be made. To add insult to injury, the manager approached us again a few minutes later to advise that the pancakes would cost $4 more, so we had to pay it now to get the pancakes. Lastly, an order for hot chocolate was given to us with sour milk, tasted horrible and clearly off and when we took this back there was no apology just a what would you like instead. Just to end the morning on a bad note, two seperate waiters approached us within 10 minutes of each other with clearing trays while we were all still eaiting and interrupted us to ask could they reach over and get empty plates - well when all of us started our meals seperately given the issues and people were still eating it's customer service 101 to not do that. The table was not overflowing from plates so we can only assume that their kitchen was running low on crockery and needed it. What a disappointment…! Ordered our breakfast, food arrived fairly fast which was great (having two kids), but all went downhill from there. My smashed avo side (per the menu) was thick cold slices of avocado. Our coffee, hot chocolate and kids baby cino didn’t arrive. People who arrived well after us were served all their food and drinks. When I asked the waiter, was told the slip didn’t go to barista… no apology, nothing. I was asked if we wanted them takeaway, in which I said no. Drinks arrived, mine in a takeaway cup… no apology still. I stated that this was disappointing. The waiter said “I just arrived so not sure”. We finished and went to leave and as we walked past the counter, no acknowledgment whatsoever. I asked for the manager and it turns out its the waitress that “just arrived”. I stated that we were very disappointed with our experience and she replied with “oh, so the food was not good?” with attitude. I said, well the food wasn’t right and our coffees were also late and wrong. I also paid for a latte with extra shot and all I tasted was milk. I stated I paid for smashed avocado side and she began to debate with me and say the menu has changed and it is now sliced avocado. She grabbed the menu and pointed to it to realise it stayed smashed avocado. Still no apology and more attitude with a very smug look on her face. Disappointing experience!! I think the owners have changed and the new people are worthless. Ordered a chicken burger, it was overcooked and dry to a point where I can skim it across the lake like a rock. There was one particular staff member (young lady with short bown hair) whose service was truly atrocious, no respect when serving the food, literally plonked the plates on the table and didn't even respond or smile when we said thanks. However, there was another staff members that had excellent service and always asked if everything was good to other customers. Why is it called 'coffee club' when they can't even get the coffee right. Ordered a caramel Iced latte and Iced Coffee frappe. Both were half filled in the cup, the latte was so basic and had 3 small Ice cubes in it. The frappe was half filled with the rest of the cup filled with whipped cream.

Used to love coming here before, but now I don't think we will be returning.
