Madame Thai — Restaurant in Sydney

This was our first time trying Madame Thai since the previous owners left (Full Moon Thai). We saw all the high reviews so decided to give it a shot but were left feeling disappointed and that the food wasn’t all that great.

The Massaman Beef Curry was quite watery; it wasn’t a curry sauce and it didn’t have a Thai flavour.

The sweet and sour pork - the pork tasted like fish for some reason(?). Again, couldn’t taste any Thai flavour (Thai herbs, ginger, etc).

We also got the pineapple fried rice that was pretty good, but we got it to have on the side.

In general we were disappointed - the Full Moon Thai that was there previously had better, more authentic Thai food. Glad we tried it out but won’t be ordering from here again. If we want to scratch that Thai food “itch” we’ll keep looking around the area.

I’m really surprised by all of the 5-star reviews.. seems fishy...

This place does not cook authentic food, all our food was extremely sweet and lacked authentic Thai flavour. To the people here who give this place high ratings you clearly have no clue what Thai food tastes like or are simply fake reviews. Our tom yum was overwhelmed with pineapple and had carrot and broccoli … no Thai flavour whatsoever

Soft shell crab som tum sweet no taste,crab not cooked properly and all Thai flavours removed

Larb again extremely sweet not enough zing .

Only thing we liked here was the chicken wings If you’re looking for authentic Thai do not come to this place. If you looking for Thai dishes with authentic flavours removed sugar pineapple and a few garden veggies thrown in this is for you.

Best restaurant in the Hills! My family dined at Madame Thai for a birthday dinner. The staff were fantastic and the food was magnificent. The flavours were incredible and food was so fresh! In conversation with the staff we were describing a Thai dish we loved from a former restaurant. We were unsure on the name, the waitress was very intrigued and asked questions on flavours and textures to understand what dish it was. 15 mins later she comes out with 2 different dishes and asked us to try them and see which was closest to it. The chef did it! Although we also fell in love with the other dish too. A very special way to celebrate my dads birthday in creating his favorite Thai dish.
