Great desserts as one would expect, but the service was absolutely terrible. Forgot certain specifics of our initial order.
Very staggered approach to serving desserts, where one person of our group would receive their order and have enough time to finish it before the next dessert item was served, despite all being ordered at the same time. Quite disappointing as we came to this place for a very special occasion and the experience ruined the occasion. One of our orders was a flat white, and we noticed that a couple had come in after us, sat down on the next table and received their 2 cups of coffee before ours.
We also noticed many complaints from other customers during our 45mins "dine in", which is concerning to say the least. Most common issue we observed from complainants was about getting the orders wrong. In our situation, we would've rather had our orders delayed and for all items to be brought out at the same time than for then to be staggered in apparent 15min intervals.
I appreciate that a generalised comment from "the MB team" will be copy and pasted in reply but please actually take this review on board. The first dish we order came completely cold , in which chocolate was supposed to be hot and explanation I received that “ sorry it was kept kept long and we could not serve you so it went cold “ . Failed to answer why it was served late when food was ready . Roughly 5 minutes later we received 2nd dish in which we had added extra strawberries at extra cost was missing in plate . When enquired , 1st I was countered. There is no strawberries mentioned . I have to highlight it in the invoice . Then they come up with another bloopers tht strawberry will be served later . But when asked why they didn’t had answer . It seems they lacked “sorry “ word after all these mess up and trying to cover their mistake . After forceful intervention, they said sorry and later sent us a scoop of ice cream and chocolate . Unfortunately our mood were already turned off and food was also not up to the mark . Friend ordered a crepe cake knowing he had an anaphylactic allergy to nuts , first problem was that he got delivered the wrong item was given the banana crepe but server left without confirming if that was the item he ordered. As soon as he tried it he immediately had a reaction including throat closing, myself and his partner immediately flagged down servers to ask if the item that was delivered had nuts (we couldn’t see the item on the menu to check).
The first server had no clue and walked away where as the second also said she didn’t know but decided the issue was funny and laughed to her coworker when my friend’s partner reinforced that my friend was anaphylactic.
Due to the poor service our group didn’t even bother to wait for the rest of our food because my friend’s symptoms was worsening. We had to take him to the hospital - Max Brenner Blacktown did not provide any attention or assistance in this situation, I hope their staff gets better training in managing medical...
